This wiring harness fits nicely into the guitar and was easy to install soldering easily to the bridge connections. I put it into a guitar that had been ignored for a long time. The volume and tone pots did not work and the guitar had a continuous grounding issue. The guitar had chrome knobs so I did order these separately. Plugged it in and no grounding hiss, sounds great.

I bought this not to install on my guitar , but to use it as a blue print . As a guide when I need to solder the real cts pots . I own a soldering gun , but anyone can use these harnesses on guitars , make sure the wires are secure with a strong connection.

It got the guitar making sound.

Got this for a guitar I was rehabbing! I rescued the guitar before it went into the trash at a house I was rehabbing. the controls for the guitar had two wires disconnected and was in bad shape . So I replaced every thing with this prewired kit, pickup not included. and the guitar is now playable.

The soldering was done well and all the correct wires were there but the switch was defective which was really annoying after getting everything together and done, to find out there’s a defective component. Checked solder points, checked everything was grounded, etc. Used a leftover switch from a different project and now everything is working just fine. If you have pieces to replace a single component or so in this harness it’s not bad for the price but if you don’t have any extra pieces you may want to buy a different similarly priced harness.

I had to un-solder the output jack, fit it back in and re-solder the jack, but otherwise still than that the installation and soldering pickups to the kit is very easy, and all pre-soldered areas including the wiring is very well done.

I appreciate other reviewers pointing out that this is listed as a 3-way switch but actually comes with a 5-way. I was looking for that config -- basically a Strat with one volume and one tone -- and couldn't find it. So the huge disappointment of an inaccurate listning for Telecaster owners was actually just the ticket for me. If it weren't for the other reviews, I would not have found exactly what I was looking for.Be advised that this may or may not suit your needs -- but it's definitely a 5-way, and ships with a Strat-style switch tip as well as Strat-style knobs.

First of all, two of the wires broke off when unfolding the wiring. Secondly, this is supposed to be a 5-way switch, but the seller couldn't tell me how to wire two split humbuckers to it, and it is unlike any other 5-way switch I have ever used. I had to order a different 5-way switch and solder it in myself. The switch is a cheap one. Pay cheap prices, get cheap stuff. And the seller had to ask the factory about the switch wiring? Means he doesn't know enough about his own product. Anybody can work a soldering iron...
