The old burner appeared to be ok but propane flow can be temperamental. Blue flame heat is required to raise the heat of cooking oil. Some repair options require total line, regulator valve and head replacement. This replacement head is cast iron and fits like the original. Saved me money...

This product is heavy cast. Three times heavier than the burner I was replacing. It will most likely outlast the standard duty fryer it is put in. Very impressed. I only leave reviews for things that are really awful or really great. Only negative is that It doesn't come with a filter screen, but I was able to retrofit from the old burner. This is necessary to keep out the mud daubers which will build nests inside when not in use.
