The flag is a representation of many things to every person, from a remembrance of a loved one to our love for our Nation. Valley Forge has been around since 1882, according to their website. So they should know what the U.S. Flag means to people and how to care for it. They don’t. I ordered the Betsy Ross flag to display on my garage wall, next to the U.S. Flag that honors my Father for his time in Service (Vietnam Vet) and for his life. So, it is only fitting that both Flags honors our past, current, and future Veterans who selfishly serve our Nation. I’ve read many (not all) of the reviews of the Valley Forge Betsy Ross Flag and there were a lot of common complaints of the tea stain, the dimensions, and others. The tea stain is a personal preference, some people will like it, some people will hate it, and some people are in between. But, it will be unique to each flag. What I found to be disgraceful is that in nearly 140 years, Valley Forge has not learned how to care for a flag nor quality control of manufacturing. There is only one proper way to fold a flag, and that is in a triangle shape with the Stars being displayed. I received my flag shoved in a small plastic box and not folded. Now everyone can expect folding creases when we purchase a flag, but nobody should expect wrinkles as if the flag was waded up and thrown in a corner left to rot that is in dire need of ironing (I used a clothes steamer to press mine). And when a person buys a flag that states that the measurements are 3'x5', we expect a 3’x5' flag (give an inch for forgiveness). The flag that I received was a 2.5’ by 4.65’ ( 30 3/4” by 56”) flag. Basically, it is short by 5 inches going across and 4 inches going down. It’s noticeable and unacceptable. What I highly recommend to Valley Forge is either retrain your Quality Control Department (if you have one) or hire those who know and understand what quality control is. Folding a flag is not a hard thing to do, nor is ensuring that the flag is pressed and free of all wrinkles before shipment. And if you are aware that the material (cotton was used in my flag that I purchased) will shrink by 10% on average (as an example), then use 10% more material to compensate for the shrinkage. What I propose is an easy fix and should be done immediately. As a Disabled Vet, I am highly disappointed by your product. But I will keep my Flag because I have daily needs/requirements that are more important than requesting a return and refund. And until these discrepancies are corrected, I will be a loyal Annin Flag customer (50 Star Flag shown in the included picture). But what I believe is right about the flag is the material and visual representation. I purchased this flag knowing that it is made out of cotton and is not intended for daily display outdoors and that Valley Forge has correctly replicated the visuals of the Betsy Ross Flag. For those who are looking at purchasing this flag, please make sure that you are comfortable in knowing that it will take some effort on your part to ensure that the flag is presentable and that the dimensions will not be accurate.

The flag looks like it's over 150 years old, fitted with tea stained stripes, add in a wrinkle or two befitting the colonial era the flag flew. The flag is Made in the USA and well worth every penny given I previously ordered a BR Flag, then swiftly cancelled the order when I discovered it was made in China. Sadly, Amazon does not compel Chinese vendors advertising on its website to show where the product is made. The flag is way too nice to hang outside, so I have a temporary spot on an inside wall, pinned to the wall with straight pins.I'm thinking of getting a decor drape rod and suspend the flag/rod with a beaten up hanging cord, draped like a tapestry in my study and make it a wall center piece.

I purchased this as an indoor flag to mount and wall hang and it is great for that. As far as the tea staining, it is over done. If you don't think that it is over done, your home must be decorated in seriously prim accents. My home is not Americana but I wanted a Betsy Ross flag. It does not look aged but dirty. It is so tea stained I tried washing it in cold water, no detergent and it's still very dyed. I washed it a second time with detergent and it didn't make much of a difference. I can live with it but would have liked it to not be so intense.The fact that it is sewed cloth is nice instead of a solid printed material. The cloth is thin and can be seen through it but it isn't expensive so this is not unexpected. For a wall hanging this is fine but I am not sure how long it would last outdoors.All in all the flag is a great price for real cloth as opposed to nylon and looks fantastic on my walls. It is doing exactly what I wanted it to. I am glad I bought it and would do so again.

I have a pre-Revolutionary War house that I like to decorate with a thirteen-star flag. Finding one that is made in the U.S.A. is a challenge, and this may be the only one I did. The material seems of good quality. The cotton fabric needed ironing before hanging, but not a problem. I've only had it up for about a month, so can't speak to how much the colors may fade over time. The tea-stained finish is quite prominent, which my wife thinks is a bit weird, but I have no problem with. But if you think you may not want a dirty-looking flag in front of your house, this is not for you.

The flag looks fantastic. The fabric is very strong and excellent quality. The stitching is precise and only had very minor flaws (a couple stitches have frayed ends, which will inevitably be an issue). The aged appearance is a little over-done, however. The white stripes are almost entirely brown and scarcely resemble the white they "originally" would have appeared. I know the flag is supposed to be very old by appearance, but if the stripes were a little less brown it would look a lot better. That aside, I very much like this flag. Historically, it's inaccurate, as the blue field would have been square and not rectangular like the modern flag. I bought it knowing this fact simply because I like the appearance. Overall, I give it a 4 instead of a 5 because of the poor "aging" done to the flag since it's supposed to look aged.

First off, this flag is gorgeous and well made. I’m giving it a 4 star instead of 5 because it’s not even close to 3’x5’. It’s closer to 2’x4’ (little bigger than that). Wouldn’t be a problem except I bought it to replace a 6’x4’ flag that I’ve had forever on the front of my house that is faded. So, now I have to purchase another flag that’s bigger. I am keeping this flag however, because it really is a gorgeous flag and I will find another area to show it off! So, if you’re cool with a smaller flag that is absolutely gorgeous and made of great material, buy this one!
