Hidden hindges
This is a good product. It's the first time I've used this type of hindges and I like the finished results. I have the 5mm by 25mm and they are very small but that's a good thing. Smooth operation.

Perfect hinge for small ring box.
Used one of these 4mm barrel hinges in a very small ring box. Used a 5/32” drill bit and installed with CA glue. The hinge was sturdier than expected for its small size. Happy with the results.

The swivel pin in the middle is very light. Use with only small boxes.

Works but no instructions
I purchased these 4mm hidden barrel hinges for a ring box. I scoured the internet for instructions and found none. Here is how I installed them.My box has a ¼” wall thickness. I drilled a 4mm hole in the center of the wall and 3/8” deep. The depth of the hole needs to match the length of the barrel from the pivoting pin to the end. Then I routed a 45 degree chamfer along the hinge side of the box on both the top and bottom pieces to allow the lid to open 90 degrees. The chamfer needs to remove the wood back to the center of the holes. Then I glued the hinges in with a little CA glue.I strongly recommend that you mock up the project on scrap wood as I show in the pictures. I also recommend using brad point drill bits to make sure you hit the exact spot for your holes.

Miserable Quality and Consistency
Incredibly poor quality and inconsistent dimensions. Pins missing from many of the hinges, others bind and do not pivot properly. Length and diameter aren't very consistent from piece to piece. From the package of 20, 2-4 of these are actually usable. Don't waste your time with this trash.
