You might as well get more things with the same price...like this package!
The package comes with a lot of things. Some of them I don't really need. The quality of those items aren't really that good. But for the same price as the original kit and it arrived on time makes it a good choice for me.Real use scenario:Although the battery comes with the package stated more mAH than the factory one. IT DRAINS OUT LIKE TWICE AS FAST. My usage for my trip was like 100 photos + some 5 mins 4K footage over actually-using-it 4 hours per day. Factory one lasts about 1.5 days, as the ones that come with only last around 1 day. Also I think it has problem reporting the percentage to the camera, as on my first go, it just give me a sudden death when I am recording. Luckily it was nothing important, and the footage was still usable.Let's talk about what really matters...the camera per se. The weather-sealing is Phenomenal. I was at Niagara Falls Maid of the Mist. When we got close to the falls, it was just pouring water at us. And the camera didn't even sweat a bit. When I was finish I just wipe water off with a towel for the body and a fine fiber cloth for the lens then it is good to go.WiFi is a big plus. But I want the NFC as well so I can just tap the camera to transfer my photos. For my trip, I use the app to transfer my photos to my phone so I can upload them to Facebook, snapchat, etc. It is fast because it uses WiFi however it will take some time in between each photo. So far no hiccup on transferring 50 photos at once, which I consider it is a excellent performance. Anymore than that, I think you really should use a computer with USB.Picture quality wise, it is really good for the money. I know it is a mirror-less, and it is a micro four thirds. However it is really light and compact comparing to a DSLR. With good enough image quality, I can zoom in and still see fine details. It is really fun to use this camera for traveling as a point-and-shoot camera at auto setting to capture some split-second moments. It is super fast and quiet, without the annoying clicking sound the shutter makes.Overall: I think this camera fits most people with this budget range (~$1000), who is amateur or part-time photographer, and as most Youtubers recommend this as a vlog camera because of its screen can flip over. I don't regret buying this camera so I think you will not, too. So buy if you want, then have fun and enjoy.

Changing it from one star to 4 stars. Faulty Image sensor - had to send in to get repaired.
The video on the camera is excellent, but the still photos has horizontal banding which makes this camera unusable as a still camera.I received a brand new camera and within a week I started to notice horizontal banding in the photos. The banding issue seems to be random. I tried different setting, different lenses but the banding issue would still pop up. I also upgraded the firmware but the camera still has the same issue. I contacted Panasonic customer service and they suggested sending it in and that it may be an issue with the sensor. It has a one year warranty on the camera, but only a 90 day warranty on the sensor. I was over my 90 days for the sensor warranty so a new image sensor would be pricy plus I has to pay shipping. I already spent a lot of money on this camera, I'd rather put that money toward a different DSLR. I think I will just keep it and use it for videos, can't really use it as a still camera since I can't rely on it with the random banding issue. So now I have a $1000 camcorder.Update:The banding issues got worse and was now affecting the video as well as the photos. The camera became unusable. I went ahead and bought a used Canon 70D and decided to send in the G85 to Panasonic repair service in Texas. I read lots of bad reviews about the repair service center so I was a bit nervous. I figures worst case scenario - I'm out the cost of shipping it there. Once they received it, it took 2 weeks before they were able to test it, then another 4 weeks to fix it with another week shipping (7 weeks total). The representative told me they were't completely sure what the problem was so they replaced the image sensor which seems to have fixed the problem. They did not charge me even though it was over the 90 day warranty for the image sensor. Overall, I'd say the repair service was ok, I was told initially it would take less than a week to fix - ended up a bit longer. The service is a bit slow, but most of the representatives were pleasant.I am changing from 1 star to 4 stars. After the fix, the camera works as it was designed to do. I am leaving one star off because the camera was faulty which required a long repair. Also I'm not sure how reliable the new image sensor is or how long it will last. Another con is the noise from the In Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) gyro inside the camera. You can hear it grinding when recording video with low noise level. That seems to be a common complaint but can be fixed with an external mic.Now that the camera is working correctly, I use it more and have noticed that I prefer this camera over the Canon. I prefer the smaller size. I also like the constant live view feature and the nearly silent electronic shutter. The fact the I can record video continuously past the 30 minute limit (Canon limited to under 30 min) is a nice feature and comes in handy.

I love my Panasonic Lumix G85 camera
First. the camera is very comfortable in the hand, is light weight and solid feeling. It is very capable of doing so many things, some of it over my head, but with all of the videos on line, you can almost find a video that explains why, what and how of most features of the camera making it easy to learn and understand. Time Lapse and long exposures are fascinating features and actually so much easier than I thought they would be. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this camera.

Screen went out-very disappointed
My screen went out about a week ago. Not sure why. I have about 3k clicks on it. It's only a month old in my hands and I only use it for photos of my jobs. ( I do construction). We wanted a nicer camera so that we could have great video and images to post online. But now we can't see the screen. You can use the viewfinder but a display would be nice to go thru all of the settings. Rated high but I guess I got some sort of defect.Seller told me to contact Panasonic but I haven't heard any good news from them. I guess I just lost a grand!
