Lists all the tools and part numbers
I really like this book. It is very detailed and was easy for me to follow to repair a 6T75 transmission. Note. This book only instructs the reader on how to rebuild the trans. Taking the transmission out is a whole other beast

Great Manual
I DO NOT like going into automatic transmissions. Period. Too many parts. Too many opportunities to get it wrong.This book didn't make me love it. This book made it doable--which is HUGE.The information and the way it's put together are excellent.If there's anything missing, it's an "inspection" section that speaks to what's OK and what's NOT OK.

Step-by Step. Used it to completely reman my G6 6spd transmission with confidence
Excellent Volume. Complete step-by-step instructions. Diagnostics and theory of operation. Anyone with mechanical Know-How can completely rebuild a transmission with this manual. Info is licensed straight from General Motors. Only wish they could reference part numbers, but at least they refer to parts by correct names making it easy to order parts.

A must if you're rebuilding a transmission
The title on the book is wrong. It should read the complete idiot's guide to rebuilding a transmission. I have never rebuilt a transmission in my life, but with the details in this book, I had complete confidence. I would give it more stars if I could. The illustrations are spot on and the directions are written as though a 5 year old could understand.

Wonderful manual!
Wonderful book! This manual has ALL the information that you need to completely tear down and rebuild this series of transmissions. Plus, it goes in depth on detailing the operation of the transmission and associated equipment.

DOES NOT cover gen2 (M7W, M7U)
Very frustrating.Yes, a good portion of the manual applies to both Gen1 and Gen2, but there are a LOT of changes in Gen2 which are not covered. For example: 10 valve body check balls vs 9, differences in valve body upper/lower/cover plates, no TEHCM pressure switches, clutch and piston changes, etc. etc.Don't assume that it covers Gen2 changes, just because it was published in 2013.

This company always makes good manuals for transmissions

Missing info
The book includes important things like bolt length and location. This transmission uses several different lengths. But it did miss some bolts that need to be removed, ie removing the valve body. Overall, not a bad manual.
