The cards are shaped as fish, which are very cute and I do like the cards because instead of numbers like most cards would have. These cards have colors, so kids learn their colors. Some of the colors are fuchsia, eggplant unfortunately, I don’t remember the rest of the colors and the game is at my granddaughters house.She’s almost 5 and she enjoys playing and she likes to colors

We've had this deck since 2015 and I am actually looking to buy a new one as my cards are finally starting to fall apart. This is after 7 years of loved use. In 2015 I had been looking for a deck that had fish shaped cards and was happy to find these! I was a little worried about the colors being confusing for my kids (I have 4), but they weren't!! It took a few times of playing to start to get the words down but the littles pick it up pretty fast. It is refreshing to have unique color names and the tones of the colors are super fun and bright! It's extremely entertaining when playing with someone new, like grandma or papa, and they ask my then 3 year old if she had any bright green and she corrects them by saying, "do you mean chartreuse?" 😆

I bought these cards for my daughter who is almost three. We LOVE them! The cards are all done by color, so she doesn't get so overwhelmed by trying to look at both numbers and suits AND colors, like on traditional cards. The colors are complicated (indigo, lavendar, buttercup, etc.), but she can just hold a card up and say "Do you have this blue one?" and it works. The fish shape is fun and easier for her to hold, though a little more challenging to shuffle and get all the cards lined up the right way. The quality is really nice - she won't be mangling them any time soon and the box is very sturdy too. It has an inner insert that slides in and out instead of a traditional flap lid like regular playing cards. I also bought the Crazy 8 cards - she liked that game a lot, but it was more overwhelming and I didn' think it was as good for her age. I will be buying these for my nieces too! Great gift for ages 2-4, maybe even older. Only down side is about the only thing they are good for is Go Fish, but that's hardly an issue when that's why I bought them. Worth the money!

I think these cards are cute, especially for children. These cards are great for helping children learn their colors. instead of asking for a number card, like you would with a regular deck of cards, you ask for the colors. There are 11 different colors and arent everyday colors, like red, green, blue. They are colors like turquoise, chartreuse, egg plant, etc. They are shaped like fish and have colorful designs on the back. They are also stronger than most cards I have purchased before. I payed about $8 for them which I think is overpriced. Especially since you can buy a regular deck of cards and play go fish with them. So its a cute gift for kids, but I wouldnt pay over $5-$6 for it.

How nice to finally have a game that's age appropriate... I have a son who just turned two and is ready for simple games but is still a little young for most. This is perfect because he know his colors and likes to match. My only complaint is that the names of the colors are silly for this age... while you're busy teaching them Pink, Blue, Red, Green, etc., the names on these cards are Chartreuse, Turquoise, Magenta, etc. We just call them Light green, Light Blue, Pink, etc. Seems a little silly for this age to me, but we're still able to play just fine. Also, like all of the other Eeboo products we own, the quality is great.

Fun game and my son loves it but the titles for the colors are really wierd and some are hard to pronounce. Instead of saying brown it will say Cafe au lait, green is camiala, pink is hot pink which is one of the more normal ones.

The color words are more advanced than just basic color words like "Cafe au Lait" for tan and chartreuse for green. Some children and parents will like this while other may prefer basic colors. Our granddaughter who is six now has played this fifty times or more with adults.

Bought this set as we thought trying to teach my niece the game with colors might be easier than numbers. (She was turning two when she received it and could identify most colors by their basic name.) She has loved it and enjoys challenging her grandparents to a game of cards. We used basic color names such as dark blue and light blue at first but about a year in she asked what the word was on the card and has loved using the color names on the cards. Her attitude and joy at calling it tangerine instead is hilarious. Highly recommend. Purchased the triangle plastic card holders at the same time and they have been a huge help. Set also makes a cute template to trace around when she wants to color some fish.

I bought this game for my 2.5 yo and thought it would be a nice first card game. Well, we do have a lot of fun playing the game, but the name of the colours are insane (chartreuse, buttercup,...). We decided to just call them light green, yellow, dark green, etc.

Shapes are great. We would have liked the colours to be more basic. EG . orange versus apricot and warm red. Easy to play with a child's card holder.
