love them
they all worked.they are quite loud, a battery will remove the 60 hrtz pulse that is present with a AC wall adapter. thier decoupling capasitor wasnt what is needed there. it needs a 10- 100 uf electrolytic cap.from pin 1 to pin 2 on the LM386 N1 op-amp.this is the N1 style & output watts are appx. 350milliwatts. the N4 is rated at 1watt. there is a size between them, but im not sure if its N2 or N3. great little module & i got my money worth.

Hiss!
This will hiss and/or pick up a random radio station installed on a metal case. The potentiometer is an unintentional radio antenna. Must use faraday material between the mounting holes and through it or it will hiss like hell. It’s really silent when nothing is being amplified if it hangs in the open and hiss free when playing music. It’s loud and cheap! Would highly recommend this little amp if you can shield the RF somehow.

Typical small amp board. Fine for small projects.
I do a lot of "tinkering" with DC components and breadboards and have always liked the 386 amp for simple projects. The DWEII board is perfect for that kind of work: low-power situations with headphones or low-wattage speakers. However, one would be disappointed trying to use this board as a full-on guitar or instrument amp driving a larger speaker. It could be achieved if an additional chip was used as a pre-amp, or with properly powered speakers. This 386 board is an average, middle-of-the-pack kind of amplifier. It's not bad or problematic, but it has limited capabilities for most uses. If you need an LM386 based board then this one is great. The PCB measures exactly 4 x 3cm (about 1-1/2 x 1-1/8") with the pot./knob sticking out about 1cm and 2cm above. This small size makes it installable just about anywhere.

Extreme noise & interference unless battery powered.
The media could not be loaded. These mini amps can only be used with battery power which should be disclosed in the description. The loud, high-pitched noise which bleeds through from any switching power supply and the extreme sensitivity to interference (the potentiometer acts like an antenna) means it can’t be used as a preamp where there is further amplification. Interestingly, the bad RF interference only occurs with a power supply, not with battery power. Also, the gain of 200 is far too high, meaning the potentiometer is not useful except its tiny first few degrees. I changed the gain to ~20 by removing C7 ( between pins 1 & 8).I attached an audio/video: First, using standard 12V power supply and the input grounded by the potentiometer, there is loud high-pitched bleed through. Then, as the potentiometer increases, so does terrible RF interference, especially connected through the potentiometer when it is touched. Next in the video, when the power plug is changed to 12V alkaline batteries, the circuit is quiet and, surprisingly, doesn’t have anywhere close to the terrible RF interference seen with the conventional power supply. It might mean the source of interference is the power supply. This could indicate susceptibility to RF interference in general. These modules are pretty much useless except battery applications, and then could be susceptible to interference.Customer service was very responsive and refunded for the product.
