American Crew Pomade

I never used to use hair "products" until my ex-wife finally got sick of my "furry" hair and directed me to various brands. This was about 25 years ago and I went through every conceivable brand. Surprisingly, going back to my childhood "Brylcream" proved the most effective, but the "fry an egg on your head" observation of my brother when we were kids, resonated with my ex-wife. Fortunately, a local hairdresser had just taken delivery of American Crew (AC) and even though she was charging £13 in 1993 for a pot of it, I gave it a go. Ever since then, I have not used anything else. American Crew Pomade has the right blend of hold, invisibility, fragrance, and economy. I have black, strong, thick hair which when freshly washed sticks up. Blow-drying adds body and volume which is not quite what you want when your hair sticks up naturally. So for the first 30 plus years of my life, I looked like I'd permanently had a fright, unless I went for the crew cut or short back and sides. The short options made me look like "I was going to kill someone" that's how scary they were. So AC Pomade really has changed my life! The beauty of AC Pomade is that it never looks like you have anything in your hair. It gives a nice semi-gloss shine which looks natural and leaves a nice, subtle manly fragrance behind. Additionally, when you've had forty winks, or any other unplanned 'activity" it's simply a matter of slightly damping your hands and running them through your hair to reactivate the Pomade. In fact, it was only last week, that my current wife, who is fastidious in her appearance and mine, taught me something new. The situation was I always applied the Pomade on the top surface of my hair (after my shower) and then blow-dried it with a hair brush. I still had bits towards the back near my hair crown slightly elevated (not sitting down). However, my wife taught me how to deal with this! Basically, put a small amount (a small fingertip) of the Pomade on first going against the direction of the hair style you're doing. (I slick mine back, so I start at the back of my head and spread the Pomade forward to create a fringe). Then you apply another small amount of the Pomade to the top (or other direction) then style as normal. This works brilliantly. It's only taken me 25 years of use to figure out, but I've shared it with you! After I finish blow-drying my hair I damp my hands a little and finger the style. That then leaves a nice shine on my hair and it'll stay that way for the whole day. Here's one last tip which I discovered. AC Pomade is water based which makes it easy to wash out of your hair. It also means you can reactivate it. However, this is also the reason why you should only use a little water when damping your hair down. By a little, I mean, wet your hands and give them a good shake. The residual wetness/damp is sufficient. Also, when making your first application or any application of Pomade, make sure your hands are dry. I normally put the small amount on my hands and rub my hands together. If they're wet, you can't coat your hands and therefore your hair evenly. I always apply AC Pomade to towel dry hair. It's no good on dry hair, so if you have a night shower before bed (which you should do, if you want to get lucky!) and don't have time in the morning for a shower (eeeeeuw!) you should damp your hair before applying. American Crew Pomade really did change my life, well at least my hairstyle and countless ladies between my ex-wife and current wife commented on my hair....and let's face it we don't dress for ourselves, we dress for the opposite sex and our egos.

Perfect for styling for hairs. Hairs remains firm and look fresh

The medium hold and high shine it provides create a polished and modern appearance that can be tailored to suit a variety of personal styles. 💫 The water-based formula is a particularly appealing aspect of this product. Unlike oil-based pomades, the American Crew Pomade washes out easily, leaving no residue or buildup in your hair. This makes it a user-friendly option that won't weigh down your tresses or leave them feeling heavy and greasy. 🚿 The inclusion of lanolin in the formula is another highlight. This natural ingredient provides a tremendous shine and a pliable hold, allowing you to restyle your hair throughout the day without compromising its appearance. The complex strong hold formula ensures that your style remains in place, even in the face of environmental factors. 💪 While the majority of customers have praised the American Crew Pomade for its performance, some have voiced concerns about the texture and hold. A few users have reported that the product can feel a bit heavy or greasy, while others have found the hold to be less than ideal for their specific hair type. These opinions, however, seem to be in the minority. In terms of value, the American Crew Pomade is positioned as a premium grooming product, with a price point that reflects its quality. However, many customers have expressed satisfaction with the results, noting that the product's performance and long-lasting nature make it a worthwhile investment. 💰 In conclusion, the American Crew Pomade is a versatile and well-crafted styling product that can elevate your grooming game. While the occasional user feedback on texture and hold may be worth considering, the overall positive reviews suggest that this pomade is a solid addition to any discerning groomer's arsenal. 🌟

Fantastic, fantastic product. On the fence about buying it? Get it. The positives: Great hold, holds for a whole day with no issue. Useful for your pompadours and your slicked styles, nice shine to it without feeling greasy or sticky. Water soluble. Very easy to wash out with no residue Very nice texture. Enjoyed sticking my fingers into it. The negatives: Lackluster hold. Not suitable on its own for hairstyles which need a lot of hold. Works perfectly in conjunction with other products, such as American Crew Fiber. Precautions: Water soluble. Water. Soluble. If it rains, your product will wash out. Be careful. WATER SOLUBLE. Apply to bone dry hair. On its own, great for slick hair. In conjunction with other products, perfect for your faux hawk and your side partings. Good luck out there, soldier. Remember. Water soluble. Don't say I didn't warn you when it rains.

Excellent

My hair are coarse/thick and type ~2B and because of that it didn’t work well for my hair for hold. It would work great for thinner-moderate thickness hair but still wont really glue it in place but rather make them more flowy or easy to restyle as the day goes on.

Firstly I have to say I did like the fragrance. As for what this is supposed to do, it does it well for my hair and does not leave the hair hard/harsh as I have had some in the past. The product (in the right amount) give a good shine to the hair and does not leave the hair feel greasy. It's AC and lives up to the mark of the brand....will use long term :) Just remember to use as per your hair length and volume..and these should do the job pretty well.

Excellent Product strongly recommend

Shiny, but smells a bit weird

Mein persönliches Go-To Haarwachs bei mittel langen Haaren. Generell wie die meisten American Crew Produkte empfehlenswert.

Not too sticky or greasy, yet holds well.

美容院の担当者に教えてもらいました。 私はツイストスパイラルパーマをかけていますが、どうしても毛先がパサついてしまうので、こちらのポマードで良い感じにツヤがでてくれるのでリピート買いしてます。
