Solid and reliable once you can refill it
Purchased in 2017 for £12.97 its now 2024 and its been reliable.Beware - a number of refill cans I purchased would not fit. Clipper brand works with the default nozzle.Once past this stumbling block, its easy to use.Flick switch to unlock - twist nozzle to turn on gas - click and release trigger to light - push slider one way or other to set desired flame type.Once you are done twist nozzle to close gas - flick switch to lock.I tend to use it for lighting the lump wood charcoal and wood logs for the Ooni Pizza Oven.I cross a couple of logs over a bed of coals and aim the flame at the junction. The flame is wide enough to set fire to charcoal and logs within 1-2 minutes. The blow torch is good to use over this extended duration. The distance is sufficient to avoid burning fingers. This is the first blow torch I have had so am unable to compare it to anything else, but with its performance and reliability there is no reason for changing or upgrading as yet.

Great performing, good value mini blowtorch
Bought this to replace a cook's blowtorch that I used to use for various DIY projects (rather than its main intended purpose of caramelising Crème Brulee!).My previous one (which was a little smaller than this) had a 'one-shot' locking trigger (where you had to unlock it after every actuation). It would fire up once you squeezed the trigger and would only stay lit for as long as you held it... whereas with this one, you dial in some gas flow, ignite it by pulling the trigger and then adjust the flame (using the gas flow and burner air vent controls) to what you require (and it will stay lit until you turn the gas flow completely off). That method of operating might not suit some users, but for some applications that I use it for (non-in situ copper pipe soldering, cable heat shrinking, etc.) that's quite useful as it can free up a hand.Regarding its performance, this torch has quite a high flow rate when opened up and can generate a really high temperature concentrated flame (up to a maximum of 1150°C apparently). Naturally, at its most extreme settings, it uses a lot of gas.. but it's easy enough to refill with just your regular can of butane lighter gas - which you will need as it arrives empty. Also worth noting that when used for prolonged periods, the metal clad nozzle can get very hot (not something my old one had a problem with) to the point where it's definitely a potential skin burn hazard.. but nothing to really worry about if you take all the normal sensible precautions. To hold, it feels quite chunky via its aluminium grip, but it's fairly light... and it comes with a detachable wide-footprint base (but can actually stand up on its own without it).Basically, it's a great performing, good value mini blowtorch... and it's certainly better than the one I had before. Also arrived really quick. Hard not to recommend it.

Good quality torch
Nice quality and gas lasts a long time. Would like more flame/carburettor adjustment though and it would be excellent

Easy to use
Had one before and it did the job it was meant to do.Had bought a different one in the past no where near as powerful.

You get what you pay for
Having tried a couple of big selling bug cheaper torches from other suppliers, I finally realise that the only way to get a good product was to for out the extra for it, and it was definitely worth it. This is a step above the competition in every respect. The filling with gas first, no sputtering and spitting of gas in every direction while at least some of it goes in the badly sized valve. This one fits a standard gas refill perfectly and only spits a bit when completely full. The ignition works easily and is well placed as a trigger rather than a button at the rear, much easier to work. The addition of a safety lock means that even if the gas is on a bit, you won't accidentally light it.The gas is turned on with the knob at the rear, adjustable in size with the knob too, and changed from an idle burn to full on with the little slider on top. At full burn it's a very strong jet and will be more than enough for any kitchen work!Top quality - if you want it and reliability too, pay for it. Don't safe a few pennies on something like this, it's a false economy as you'll never be as satisfied after a long period of use.

Excellent powerful torch
I needed to replace my other cook’s torch because the flame was too short. Really impressed with this torch. I use it for popping bubbles in acrylic pouring but would also make an excellent torch in the kitchen for creme brûlées, searing pepper skins, etc. It’s good quality and the handle is nice and chunky to hold. The flame is long, strong and powerful, and can be adjusted for intensity. It also has a safety lock for when it’s not in use. Highly recommend.

Great design
We had the exact same model for about 20 years and it got hammered, regularly used on beach sea fishing trips to light barbecues, also to light my garden barbecues and garden incinerator. Plus all our searing and browning tasks in the kitchen. This looks and feels the same but only time can tell if it’s just the same quality on its lifetime. It has a very flexible flame range from low pressure to concentrated flame

Great torch
This is a kitchen blowtorch and it is brilliant in that manner. It'll accept over the counter butane gas cans for lighters (DO NOT use an adaptor/head).The flame has plenty of reach and a nice diameter and the gas flow is mostly even giving you a good flame. This would get a full 5 stars but one thing should be noted this model DOES NOT have a safety lock like the description says (even the instruction say it does). It seems a little harsh to knock a star off for that, but it's a key feature that's not present.
