Crap - do not buy
Two of three locks were defective. One didn’t work right out of the packaging and the second broke as I was installing. See photo.

Drop in replacement latch - but screws may be smaller than your existing installation.
I bought this product to replace my existing window latch after painting the interior frame and trim a new color and didn't want to paint the latch to match the new theme in the rest of the room. While these are a drop in replacement for my existing latch, there are a couple of things worthy of note ...1. The color isn't really a Bronze color, it's just a plain dark brown, there is no metallic flake in the paint so it looks rather plain compared to the other components and fittings I have that are actually bronze color. In fairness to the vendor, the color is as pictured - plain brown, not bronze.2. The mounting screws (also painted) are much smaller (smaller diameter and shorter) than those used on my OEM window latch so I will not be able to use them because of obvious security concerns - even on a very small window. The product page (amazon) doesn't show the screws in the dimension drawing nor specify their size in the descriptive text. So, for my particular case, I'm probably going to spray paint this latch a real bronze color and will also paint the old screw heads for re-use to get exactly what I was looking for.As with many Amazon items, adding more product information/details/drawings/specifications would have helped.

One of the two pieces is far to narrow to attach easily to the window frame.
There are two parts to the product. The part that does not have the handle (seen on the upper right in the picture) is too narrow. Trying to fit this to a window sash involves putting the screws so close to the edge of the sash that it is almost impossible not to split the wood, or weaken it.The construction is inexpensive die-cast. I ended using only one piece of the two provided- the piece with the turn handle, which happened to fit into the older version of the second piece already installed in my windows. That older version was much wider, so that the screws could fit properly into the main part of the frame, not right at the edge.

Piece of junk
This item arrived in a nice blister card. When opened, everything fell out and I mean everything. Tried to put it back together but the problem was poor design and construction. Junk. Now I'm wasting time on this review and return.

Needs a redesign...
If your back window is slightly slanted, this will not work. The slant won’t allow it to lock. You’ll need two flat surfaces for both parts. And then you’ll need to line up & mount both parts so precisely close to get it to close & lock. Didn’t work for my window. Would have had to make new holes that were so close to my old holes that it would have created one big hole. This could be more universal if the lock part was designed differently allowing more leeway. You have to be so precise even if both sills were flat.

Good product for the cost.
This product looks like it was a good purchase. We replaced a (very) old metal sash lock on a small window. It feels sturdy enough to do the job for the small window but I will be keeping an eye on it. The latch did NOT have the same dimensions as the previous latch, which I figured would be the case. So, I did have to pre-drill a few new holes, - no issue. To make sure that the latch would match up perfectly, I centered and installed the sash lock on the window while both parts were still latched together. Having done this, they are matched up and open and close extremely smoothly.

Replaced OEM Milgard vertical sash lock
This was a perfect fit replacement for an OEM Milguard vertical sash, white vinyl window lock. The locking mechanism fit into the original holes, and there was no need to replace the second part (lock catch) as they worked together seamlessly. (The only identifying numbers on the broken OEM lock, other than the Milgard logo on the front, were on the underside: A-S PA)

Good value
I'm going ther hold up better than the originals that came on my vinyl windows. They were easy to install but the handles don't completely close. I believe they will be fine after they are broke in. Not literally though.

Worked well as a replacement for existing
Fit my window perfectly as a replacement for old ones which had lost their "spring" so fell into locked position even when unlocked
