Unfortunately it did not solve the issue I was having with the coffee pot, But I'm so glad to have the correct part for the future.

There seems to be a flaw in the design of the coffee makers, but this is the perfect piece to replace the needle and get your coffee machine working well again

Replacing this part has resolved my issue. I was having problems with my 5-6 yr old Hamilton Beach Flex Brew blowing up my K-Cups and making a mess. The problem grew more frequent over the last six months. After searching online, I read a review by another Amazon purchaser who indicated this part had resolved the same issue for them. It made sense to me that the rubber/silicon seal that is squeezed against the top of the K-Cup had worn out and that the needle that punctures the top of the K-Cup might be dull. In spite of my best effort to clean the coffee grounds around the seal that sits above this part before installing it, the needle in this part became clogged on my first attempt at making a cup of coffee using the new part. Since clearing the clog resulting from my first attempt using compressed air, things have been working fine. This part is inexpensive compared to the Flex Brew so experience DIYers should give it a try. I have unclogged the needles using my mouth or a bread tie wire. Access to an air compressor makes clearing tough needle clogs quicker. \Replaced the part the K-Cup sits to make all needles new again). Not sure this was necessary.

This was easy to install and saved me the expense of replacing the entire unit. I hope it lasts longer than the original. I wish it costed less.
