And it has some amazing information if you want to create your own shipping container home - even if you don't have any previous building experience!It covers planning and budgeting, zoning and obtaining permits, designing your home, laying a proper foundation and installing adequate insulation, and more! It also comes with many possible floor plans to get you started! An excellent starter book if you want to create a shipping container home.

I agree with all of the 4 and 5 star review commenters: this book is full of information that someone considering the possibility of building a container home (or tiny home for that matter) should consider. The information is very specific in that it lists the certain types of legal permits, building codes, government entities, safety & accessibility measures, materials/land considerations, etc., that MUST be taken into account for a container home project. But, it is less specific in that it cannot give exact details because those are so location-specific. A true "beginner" will likely be bowled over by the sheer quantity of things to take into consideration -- which is why this book is FANTASTIC -- but anyone who has built another type of home may not find as much useful info since there aren't detailed floor plans, building guides, etc. Anyway, for where I am in the process, this book is definitely 5 stars!
