It worked perfectly right out of the package! There wasn't any need to program this remote.

It works just like my OEM remote, except better. This one still works. I was skeptical at first, and expected an item commiserate with the price. This little fella does all the same functions as the OEM remote at a quarter of the price! The only difference I can sense, is it is a tad bit lighter in weight. I had a few beers at my favorite bar with the money I SAVED.

Works perfectly out of the box for my Yamaha Receiver. Five stars
I have HTR-3066 and it worked perfectly without any setup, just needed to add AA batteries. But be aware that the supplemental buttons at the bottom that look like they program a separate TV device do not work, this is somewhat expected based on the product description but I can confirm.
