Good pedals!
While these pedals might be a shade on the heavy side at just over 530g/pair, unless you're a weight weenie that uses latex tubes and removes valve caps to save weight, who cares? They're very solidly built, mega-grippy and the bearings feel good. Each pedal has a good size platform with nine pins in each side and the set includes a set of washers so you can shorten the pins. More on that later. I would say they are easy to fit, with the usual cautions on pedal removal/fitting because the thread on the left pedal is reversed. The pedals are marked for L and R. You'll need either a 6mm hex driver (preferably a torque wrench) or as a last resort, a 15mm spanner. I do highly recommend a torque wrench as you don't want pedals too tight or too loose. There are many video guides online showing how to change pedals and I strongly urge you to watch some if in any doubt. Side note: my old pedals were a PAIN to get off as they used a nonstandard 8mm hex bolt. When I put them on I must've guessed at the torque (as I don't have a torque wrench with an 8mm head) and today I paid the price for that. I'd strongly recommend using a torque wrench to tighten the pedal to the required 10nm. And don't forget to give the threads a light coating of high quality grease prior to installing as this will help with removal in the future. About those pins. Out of the box they stick up about 3 or 4mm and they give very aggressive grip - far too much for my requirements. There is a set of washers included which come in two bags; one of thin washers, and one of thicker washers. There is enough to put one of each washer of every pin. I opted for having the pins as short as possible, so one thick and one thin washer per pin. You do have four options for pin length; no washers, a thin washer, a thick washer, or one of each. The price I paid is a little higher than perhaps I could have got them for if I'd maybe waited a while and kept an eye on price trends, but I don't mind paying for quality, and these are that.

Large, very grippy and sturdy
Ideal - wide and long so you get loads of grip, very strong and typical Shimano excellent build quality. They are supplied with two sets of little spacers like washers that you can put under the spike posts to reduce the height of the spikes. We're not all cycling through 3 feet deep mud in the winter in flat shoes so the ability to reduce the height of the spikes is good, less damage to my walking shoes. But if you are cycling through 3 feet deep mud these are also probably the pedals for you ! :)

Great pedal, but heavy.
Well made pedal with good bearings as you'd expect from Shimano. The only downside is the weight, but I am used to SPD pedals. I've bought 2 sets of these for my boys' bikes and they appreciate the large platform format and great grip for their shoes. Excellent build quality ensures trouble-free maintenance. If you were competing then these are probably not for you due to the weight, but if you just want a sturdy, reliable and smooth running pedal with great grip even for muddy shoes then these are fantastic VFM.

Not the lightest but good quality
Good quality. Not the lightest in the world but fit well and seem sturdy

My go to pedals
I was already a big fan of Shimano pedals and run a set of Shimano Saints on my hardtail bike, but I bought these (slightly different) pedals for the full suspension bike and they haven't disappointed at all. There are lots of other pedals out there that cost a LOT more than these and maybe they're better for it, but for the cost I don't think you can go wrong with these.

Excellent
Great quality pedals at a reasonable price that are better than what most bikes are shipped with these days. Very sturdy and had them rub the ground / curb a few times with minimal after effect. They are not the lightest of weight you can buy - but only if you have hang ups over just an extra 250g for pedal weight. If so, then you will want to pay more for a higher range / cost pedal. So all round and value for money, they are an easy 5 stars.

Well made sturdy product, built to last.
I bought these for my regular bike and do 300+ miles per month which had destroyed the original pedals. I am very pleased with the new product. They are quite heavy but this makes them feel strong and sturdy. Adjusting the pins is a bit of a faff but this only needs to be done once. They arrived really quickly too which was vital for me as many bike shops are low in stock or difficult to access due to restrictions.

Not worth the current asking price, heavy, slow and large,
I was surprised when I took these pedals out the box, They are heavy and not suitable for all riders. They do feel very sold, however I would not like to ride on these all day as the weight they add is substantial. The pedals also have a very large footprint, again which can be a blessing and a curse, however depending on your riding style, coupled with the additional weight, these could really cause issues for many riders. The pins on the pedals also come very low, which requires you to remove the spacers on all the pins. This takes a long time and is a severe oversight from shimano. I’d like to see these brought up to more modern standards and easier ways to adjust etc. Overall they are ok, but I believe they are not worth the current price. There are much better pedals for much less money available here on amazon, so they have a lot of competition and they need to adjust their price to reflect that.
