Still the best Kindle
Still the best Paperwhite, vastly superior to the 12th gen that’s just released. A white, crisp, clear screen, it’s nice and bright (not dim) and causes no eye strain. You can have as little or as much brightness and warmth as you want. It’s light and the perfect size - not too big or too small. Excellent battery life, charges quickly, fantastic reading experience. The device feels sturdy, too.Also, had I not known this was a refurbished device, I would never have guessed - looks just like new, just has a different box.Highly recommended.

What’s not to like?
Just upgraded from my 2011 ink kindle with buttons and this is a LOT better. I love the backlit/touch screen and have used the tint feature to set the backlight with hint of yellow which was easier to my eye. Having the adverts for books on the splash screen is irrelevant to me, gives me a few book recommendations and saves a few pounds over the non advert one. Size seems fine and fits in my hand nicely. I really cannot think of something to complain about. Would the cheaper one do just as well? Possibly but this one is great and I couldn’t ask for more.

Great little device - perfect for fiction - much improved on previous models
I had the first paperwhite model several years ago. I was impressed with it, but didn’t find it sufficiently replace printed books for me. I’ve recently gotten back into fiction and am planning to travel soon so decided to buy this.I’ve been hugely impressed by how light-weight it is and easy to carry around. The back light makes it perfect for nighttime reading and I’ve found it way more absorbing than before, easy to replace some printed books.I initial bought it hoping to use it for some reading I’m doing for study, but I’ve found it doesn’t display tables well because of the small sized screen. So is better suited to reading fiction rather than study for me.

Clear screen, solid battery.
Only needs charging once every couple of weeks. Solidly built, the screen is clear and adjustable brightness is very useful. Books/library both quick to load.I've got tons of books on there and don't think I'm close to maxing out storage. The size of it is somewhat small but I can fit it in my coat pocket it's so compact so the positives outweight the negatives.Only annoyance is that I bought the ad version but it isn't really very intrusive at all.

Didn’t think I’d like reading on a kindle as much as I do a physical book, but I’m converted!Been on holiday with it and barely used any battery and could read in bright sunlight. Also like using dark mode to read at night. Highly recommend. 5*

Budget-Friendly book lover
I was hesitant to buy a refurbished Kindle, but I'm so glad I did. It looks and works like new, and it's so much more affordable than a brand new one. I love that I can now afford to buy more books and support my favorite authors

good as new!
Ordered a pair of these for my parents who were on older Kindles without the warm light. They are very happy with the new version overall, although it is slightly larger than the previous Paperwhite Kindles. They arrived in a slightly different box to a new Kindle too, a brown cardboard box rather than the blue printed box you'd see with a brand new Kindle.
