Emerson Smartset Sound Therapy Alarm Clock Radio with White Noise/Nature Sounds 1.8" LED Display Black/Blue, ER100105

There are so many cool things about this clock/radio, I hardly know where to begin ... but I think my favorite is that you don't have to set the time, you just choose your time zone. My second favorite thing is the four brightness settings for the display: dim, comfortable, bright, and airport runway landing light - which is bright enough to see even with the sun shining directly on it. I also love the "white noise" options. The radio works great, too; I much prefer being awakened by music but if you're a buzzer person, that's available as well.

Alarm clock is good. Sound on the lowest setting is still loud. Otherwise a good clock.

The media could not be loaded. Nice Clock Radio for the money. The wide base makes it hard to tip.The White Noise generator is awesome. Our kid is able to fall sleep without running a fan.SmartSet did not work very well for us. It didn't get the time correct (it was off by about 20 minutes) so we had to manually enter the time. When you plug in the clock it does this slot machine style roll of the numbers (see video) which makes it look like it is really working to come up with the time and date. I believe what is actually happening is that the time and date are factory preset and remembered with the help of a replaceable CR2032 battery. The clock could just power straight up to the time but it rolls the numbers to make it seem more magical. Not sure why ours was 20ish minutes off.I do not believe this clock has the ability to correct its time from an external source like the Atomic (WWVB), WiFi, GPS or Bluetooth sync clocks can. Minus one star for being set wrong and for lacking the ability to correct itself.I find it borderline inexcusable that all clocks don't have some sort of external sync these days. Our vehicles have GPS time which is always perfect. My phone's time is always perfect. The Echo Show and Frameo are always spot on along with our new Bluetooth sync clocks as well.For only 10ish dollars I can forgive the lack of a proper sync feature.Note that I could be wrong about SmartSet. Someone somewhere claimed it worked by snagging time info from the FM band somehow.If I get more info on how SmartSet works I'll edit my review. Mayby I'll rip out that 2032 battery and see if it can pick anything up out of thin air...

Cannot beat the price and features. At least for a non-chinese made or based alarm clock. I tried Emersons other more expensive alarm clocks and this one was my final choice. It's got plenty of features and also is an atomic time clock. Big numbers and loud.

It is a clock, it should keep time like all my other clocks. Initial setup went well. The next day it is 3 minutes fast. Per Emerson's, instructions I manually reset to correct time (for a self setting clock this did not at all seem like something that should need being done). Two days later, it is running 2 minutes slow. In searching online, it seemed a common problem with these clocks not holding the time. Returning as defective.

This clock set itself upon plug in but is 5 min faster than the time on my phone/tablet/my car clock.When the power went out and then came back on the clock took almost an hour to fix itself back to the "correct" time (aka 5 min faster than other set setting clock).The clock is also advertised as having white noise sounds... It does not. It does have an FM radio which works well and that I do like.For $10 this isn't a bad buy if you just want a radio, but I still depend on my old alarm clock to wake up incase of a power outage during the night (I've now also have had to adjust that clock 5 min ahead of real time so both clocks match). But I guess better 5 minutes ahead is better than 5 min behind.
