Excellent quality rower that we should have gotten years ago.

We’ve had this rower for about 4 months, and love it. My wife and I share use, and are both using it several times per week. Never liked excercise machines (boring), but this one is much more enjoyable - maybe it is the sound of the water? Machine is well made and attractive, and folds away when we have guests in the room. We are in our early 60s and wanted something that was low-impact. This gets some good upper body and cardio, plus some stretching. Quiet and smooth action. Simple to assemble. Price goes up and down, so keep a watch. Would definitely recommend.

Love it

Exactly what I wanted! Sleek design, affordable, folds, just the right resistance. Love it! The only negative is the monitor. It could be improved on.

Excellent for my needs

As promised, a very nice unit. The rowing is very smooth. The value is tremendous. I have rowed for 8 days, 20 minute sessions, and will continue to do so for 30 days, then go to 30 minutes for 5 additional months for a complete evaluation. Right now it is well designed, it was packed well, final assembly was the easy. I am pleased.

Initial thoughts from two competitive on-water rowers

Backstory: My husband and I are on-water rowers who compete nationally (and in his case, internationally). I'm bigger on erging than he is for practical reasons; he prefers to be on water when weather is decent, and I'm contending with certain work hours. We both love C2 as a company (seriously) but there's one thing... just one thing... that made us sell our C2 and go with a lesser known water rower. The catch. Literally, the catch (beginning of the drive) - on a C2 (and again, we love 'em as a company) it is JARRING to the neck and hands because the flywheel slows to the point where the pressure shock results in neck pain and wrist pain. In my case, that meant eventual surgery. As a result, the biomechanics are #1, 2, and 3 in terms of importance. As of this writing, this is a newer product (released December 2023) and has no more than 20 reviews. I looked at 40+ machines and took the chance on this one based on good, but limited, feedback. Experience thus far:Delivery: no issue. Well packed, one person can carry (two are recommended).Assembly: the video is much more helpful than the written instruction. Save yourself time and hassle and go straight to the video.Mobility: definitely easy enough. We won't be moving it around that much, but if you need to, that really shouldn't be a challenge! Pick it up on the center crossbar and up she goes on four wheels.Filling the tank: easy. Funnel is included.Noise during use: as expected. Not overly quiet, not overly loud. We can listen to videos, have a conversation, no problem. And as other reviewers have stated, there is a soothing aspect to it.Seat and glide: the seat is awesome (gel cushion is just ride), and the glide is absolutely perfect. Keep the rails clean to keep it that way.The drive: This is where this thing really shines. We started at a level 3 (use water lines on the right side of the tank, from the perspective of being seated on the machine) for long-distance rows. There was another reviewer who stated it wasn't a workout at all; I'm not sure how that is possible unless the tank was empty. But perhaps the fans were faulty in that reviewer's case - not clear. There is no hard catch - it is EXACTLY as it feels on the water, and it WANTS you to accelerate through the drive, as you should. In short, it feels awesome and is as close to an on-water experience and I could want it to be. Upped it to mock sprint training, since we're coming up on sprint season. We'll take it back down to a 4 when we get ready for head race season. It's not the most convenient thing to change the tank level mid-workout, so plan your training accordingly.Foot well / straps: The straps do rotate around when you adjust, but they stay put once fastened. I could see a scenario where they (the buckles) don't hold forever, but I can easily replace with sturdier buckle at a later time. This doesn't bug me.Wishlist: sure, I wish it had a shelf for a tablet or something. It doesn't. I can add one aftermarket. In the meantime, just leaving my tablet on the floor within reach.Console: this is the the only con thus far. Display contrast is not spectacular, but it a well lit room it's fine. Metrics... the metrics are nowhere near accurate. Split is twice what it should be and meters per stroke are half what they should be. Total distance is about half what it should be. Watts, I'm truly not sure where they are. They seem about right based on other machine experience (C2 is my benchmark). If you're getting this and participating in indoor rowing competitions, it's going to be a real downer. IGNORE THE STATS, friends. Perceived level of effort, good form, and quality of workout are key. The stats that this thing gives you - no way. Just no way.We got it for the training quality and biomechanics, not for erging competitions (been there, done that). For the price point, IMO, you can't go wrong. I've had no need to engage customer service, but in a couple pre-sale exchanges, they seemed responsive enough. If anything material changes, I'll post an edit. I do plan to post usage video as well, in the next week.Happy rowing.

Fantastic little machine, not for the feint of heart

So, decided to get this rowing machine to add in some strength training to my routine. And honestly, it's probably one of the better, if not best options. The portability of it is my favorite with how small it folds up, the next part is the ease of assembly. It honestly took maybe 10 minutes to assemble. The noise of it is very relaxing, if you're into the sounds of water splashing or rushing with each pull. With that being said, some things to take into consideration. For the "balanced" resistance that the manufacturer recommends, it takes about 2.5 gallons of water. Additionally speaking, if you fill it up with just regular tap water instead of filtered or like purified water from a store, you'll want to use the supplied water clarifying solution. It does not mention it in the book, but it's just one of those things you'll want to do so that the machine stays clean and doesn't have a funk or grow mold/bacteria. The other thing is, for the love of all that is good, START SLOWLY. And when I mean start slowly, I mean do something like a HIIT rowing workout, do not use the apps supplied rowing workout. I made the mistake of trying to do the shortest session they had in the free trial of their app (yes their app is free but the workouts and videos to go with it are subscription based), a 14.5 minute rowing session. This machine will laugh at you the whole time it's whooping you and wiping you all over the floor. The first three minutes is the easiest part, the next 11.5 minutes is the longest 11.5 minutes of your life. It's non-stop rowing for the whole workout. (You can pause the workout/video and take a break, but the break itself never feels like it's long enough before you decide to finish the workout.) Tl;Dr, don't make the same mistake I did.The two things that I wasn't a super fan of, is how low it is to the ground and the foot straps. The foot straps feel kind of cheap and cheesy, it's also a little difficult to put on for someone like me who is 6'3". I'd almost say a set of Velcro straps might be better? Or the addition of Velcro? The other thing on how low it sits, also plays into my height. That's a long ways down, and an even longer way up after the machine got done beating the snot out of me for its own entertainment. In closing, I do recommend this machine. It does engage quite a few muscles and does a great job at strengthening them and stretching them out. Even the ones you didnt think you had. The portability of the machine is even better and it stores out of the way, as well as it's easy to maneuver around where you need it. Just, start light and work your way up, you'll do just fine.
