It weighs very little and fits in your pocket or purse!
This umbrella has two great virtues: it is small and it is lightweight. My other umbrellas are more sturdy, and they probably resist going inside out in the wind a little more, but this one takes the prize for not being annoying to take with me as a talisman to ward off the rain. I bought the medium blue, and I like that it is unobtrusive but not black. The fabric is lightweight but not flimsy. You have to open and close it in the old-fashioned way, which in my book is a plus. A similarly lightweight umbrella I had had for years bit the dust not long ago, and I am very pleased that I could get a worthy replacement.

Artificial Comfort!
My wife and I live in northern Utah where it's mostly dry and the elevations go over 12,000'. This causes a unique interaction with the sun. This might sound a little flaky but its heat is more like a laser beam than an oven. But what if there were a way to block the laser beam? What if, even on the hottest days, you could pull some small device out of your backpack, deploy it like a shield and relax in the force field that you've created. This is not a sci-fi fantasy. It's an umbrella. Yeah, you could probably get similar results with any piece of overhead shade but this things is built to block UV rays, it's super light weight, super small and looks high tech. The following attributes are not flaws but necessary concessions of the design. It can flip inside out in even light winds. The fabric storage condom (?) is just barely big enough if you carefully roll the umbrella. The size of the canopy is just enough for one person or two if you've hugging. The height of the canopy is just enough. If these are deal breakers, buy the bigger heavier model. I've used them and they are super nice despite the weight and size penalty. Quick story before I close. We hiked Frary Peak last Saturday with some friends. The weather was nice but by the time we reached the summit, everyone was hot and ready for some water. Like most mountains out here, there's not one scrap of shade anywhere. My wife and I snuggled under our little canopy and enjoyed our snacks in complete comfort. I'm sure it made our friends sick to see us but they know where to order one.

Lightweight sun & rain protection
Love how easy it is to have this umbrella at all times because it is so light to carry. However, any medium gust of wind will blow it inside out. You sacrifice strength for weight, but if it were any heavier I wouldn’t carry it around as much, and therefore it wouldn’t get used.

Great Idea, but didn’t work
I purchased two for a hike for me and my son. I loved how light and compact this was ~ for great in our pack. I used one time for a few minutes on the trail bc it was exposed and temps were heating up. The wind blew and flipped the umbrella inside out. I messed with it for a few more minutes and i never could get it worked out. Super disappointed. The temps were 100 degrees plus and I ended up getting overheated. I was able to return one unused but our trip was a few days outside the return window…if the company would still be willing to send a refund I’d appreciate it.

Perfect for travel and scorching sun
I bought two of these umbrellas for a trip to Italy as I very well knew that traveling during the summertime with the Scorching heat It would be unbearable specially with long lines at the tourist attractions. This umbrella was a lifesaver because for one thing it was so light and compact that it easily fit into my sling bag. The second day in Rome was hot and in mid 90s and bringing up the umbrella in the middle of the day with high temperatures would bring down the temperature to less than 5°(when standing under the umbrella). That made so much of difference and helped carry on the day without feelings hot. We used it several times during our trip and also used it one time when it rained in Florence. But of course you need to be careful if it’s windy and you don’t want to use it otherwise the umbrella would flip. I mostly bought it for her protecting myself and the family from the sun and of course, the unexpected rain and It worked. I definitely recommend.

Very light but somewhat delicate
Very lightweight. Useful, since it only adds 3.5 ounces to my pack. But it is very delicate. I'll be careful and it will be nice to have.

Ultralight Sun Umbrella
I bought this as an ultralight sun umbrella. It is easily the lightest umbrella I have ever had. With the light weight, you can't expect it to be robust in storms. I got the silver color to reflect the sun. The fabric is opaque unlike normal umbrellas. To save weight there is a small disk instead of a handle. You don't hold the disk, but the shaft above the disk. As advertised, the ribs are aluminum and carbon fiber. The aluminum ribs are near the hub, and the carbon fiber are on the edges. Looking at the ribs they do look like carbon fiber and not fiberglass. If you are looking for a ultralight sun umbrella, or an ultralight umbrella for emergencies, this is a good choice. I would not use it as a daily rain umbrella. I don't think it will do well in wind.

Came super wrinkled
I like this brand because of the lightness of their umbrellas. However this came super wrinkled and that in itself tells me it’s poor quality. Not worth what they charge for it. They are lightweight which means if there is any wind it will break quickly. I wouldn’t suggest you buy it. You’re welcome.
