I was skeptical about this product at first because I have tried a few different diets for my dog over the years due to her multiple allergies and sensitivities, including prescription diets recommended by my vet. My dog is turning 11 soon and was beginning to get disinterested in her other dog food. She had also been slowing down, which I assumed was simply related to her aging. Since we switched her to this diet, however, she is regularly finishing up her food and I have noticed that she is far more energetic. As an added bonus, she is not chewing her paws as much (they can turn pink this time of the year because of her affinity for the outdoors combined with her various allergies) and her diet is the only thing that we have changed, so I attribute these changes to this diet.

My dog wouldn't eat the product and I posted one star review. But the company came back to me with an apology and offered me a refund. I commend their entreaty for the offer. I know their products is good and would reccoment it to anyone it is that my dog is old, 16, and he has gotten very finicky about his food. I have been trying different brands and some he will eat for a while then just stop, so I am not blaming the company.Not very often do I come across such integrity to offer a refund, and I will leave that option up to them, for I know it isn't their fault , for the product description I don't think anyone could go wrong with it.Thanks againGary

My Shiba Inu loves it! The moment I opened the bag, he was all over it. I use it as an additive on his dry food (he doesn't appreciate it as much on his wet food) and it’s been great. There was an adjustment period, as with any new food, but the fact that he continues to enjoy it means a lot for a picky Shiba. He has no problem with the crunchiness and seems to enjoy the taste. All that said, I wouldn’t switch him to a diet of only this food, but in tandem with kibble and wet food, this is a fantastic supplement for sure.

This is a good product for medium to large dogs. My small dog loves this product when I crush it with a rolling pinbefore I serve it to her. There are some very hard shards and chunks which she tries to chew but has such trouble that she ends up spitting it out. Now I give it to her, crushed, she gobbles it down. My larger dogs love it and can chew the hard pieces. I wish there was offered a small breed blend of this item.

You definitely get what you pay for. This dog food is worth the money and my dogs enjoy it. Look at the real, whole-food ingredients listed on the bag and it is air-dried to preserve nutrients. The other big name brands' kibble is full of rendered animals that sit outside for weeks in the elements (hooves, fur and all), ground up and baked at extremely high temperatures and then filled with byproducts/fillers like rice, corn, wheat and meal. Then to make it all "healthy", they add in synthetic vitamins and spray it with flavor to make it more appetizing. Watch Pet Fooled documentary if you would like to know what you are really feeding your dog. That is why so many of the dogs who eat kibble seem to have chronic vomiting and diarrhea, allergies, skin issues, as well as more serious conditions. There is very little oversight in dog food and AAFCO only provides "standards" and "guidelines" to which no one ever enforces. I am passionate about dog nutrition and have done tons of research, taken dog nutrition courses and I cook my own dog food. When I don't cook my own dog food, my dogs get to eat Badland's Ranch and a few other carefully selected brands. I believe that wholesome food saves us money in vet visits since my dogs stay healthy and only ever have to see the vet for their annual checkups.

Using this dry food as a topping for now to introduce it as my dog’s new food. Purchased the bison flavor which my dogs love. They are both picky eaters but have had no problems with this flavor nor any other adverse reactions. Glad my Yorkies are 11 & 14 lbs since this brand is pricey and don’t require a large amount at each mealtime. Anxious to try the chicken flavor also. I read the Ads on line and prompted me to try Badlands as a healthier diet. Will see if there’s a difference after a few months using product.

This VERY expensive quality dog food is usually quite good, but the last bag I ordered was full of dust and small bits. The pieces were also overly hard - as another reviewer noted. Does anyone know if there’s an issue with the production of Badlands’ dog food? I just ordered another bag to compare with my latest purchase; if it’s the same crumbled mess, I am going to stop, which will make my Maltichon very unhappy and me, too.I just received an email from Badlands Ranch. They have offered me a full refund for the above reviewed bag of Badlands Ranch Superfood. I consider this unexpected response very helpful to me and my budget and speaks highly of the company.

At first my dog didn’t like it. I used it underneath the food she likes. She ate it. She has never had salmon she never liked it. So that is one of the reasons why I wanted to try this food. The good change was her poo is healthier. If that makes any sense
