OK to use with the chain it comes with or a very thin alternative.
OK to use with the thin chain it comes with. I wanted to use my own silver chain with these, but the hole is quite small, and difficult to get it through, I am not a fan of thin chains. Also it does not sit correctly against my skin, sadly returned it. However there are lots of other good items on this sellers' site. I've purchased and have several of their items.
