Worth the money.
This ballet bar replaced my wife's larger diameter, longer, much larger, double stationary bar which was a bit in the way since it stuck out too far.The design of this ballet bar is excellent. My wife and I love that it is adjustable, doesn't protrude out from the wall as far, is shorter, and is a tad bit smaller in diameter for her small hands. It is perfect for her needs. The bar is high quality, sturdy, and the finish is very smooth. It can be put up against the wall - either up or down - for storage and out-of -the-way, if and when necessary. It was easy to assemble and put on the wall, the spacing was perfect for the studs. It was a good value for the money. She loves it.

Buy Your Own Lag Screws
I wasn’t expecting the order to deliver until tomorrow but when it came today i decided to just go for the install. I had read some reviews talking about the screws and bolts. Those reviews were correct. Go ahead and buy you some 2” lag screws 5/16. Get 2 screws per bracket. You get different number of brackets based on the size you order.Since it was a Sunday i figured i would give the screws that came with it a try. The first bracket was a breeze and i thought i was home free until i got to the second bracket and stripped 2 screws. I was installing on the studs by the way. It was a perfect 16” apart so no worries for you there. They don’t give you extra screws so i decided to go with some lag screws. Once i went to ACE and picked up what i needed the install was a breeze. So do yourself a favor if you are mounting to studs and go get some lag screws. You can see in my pictures that the black screws with phillips head is what was sent with package. The ones i bought are silver.I measured my studs ahead of time and place painters tape where i needed to install so i was ready when they came in.I got 2 sets of 6ft bars which have that additional bracket in the middle. The bars put together very well and easy. The lag screws created a very sturdy bracket for us too.I’m going to order 2 more pair of 3ft for my left side of the wall so i can install a little lower for the little sister. I bet i have my screws ahead of time though. ha.The height adjustment seems easy. I tested it several times. Just pull the pin and set the height. This is a good thing if she gets taller.Yeah, don’t bother with the instructions. Just put the bar together first and the measure how high you want to install the bars. We went 45” for the top and 35” for the bottom one. The adjustable bracket will help us go up or down.Daughter approved too. She can do all her stretches and now we don’t have the floor standing one all in the way.

Solid Quality Ballet Bar - best for one person use
For an item like this that will be used daily, with body weight, legs, and arms being strewn on it, this ballet bar is well-made and of excellent quality.Keep in mind the bar is 3 ft (one yard), so it's good for personal use, not just in a studio. plus - the density and weight of the bar itself will require a solid installation. once mounted, the anchors allow for the angle of the bar to be adjusted. This helps us a lot seeing four out of seven people in our family are dancers (the position adjusts to the height of everyone using it).The finish of the barre itself prevents splinters or injuries, including the ends, which have a nice round smooth end. Definitely a must if you like to dance or even stretch/tone your legs after a workout. Great bar!

The item itself is decent quality, the installation hardware it came with didn't work for drywall.
Now that it's actually installed, I do like the bar. It looks nice, it allows you to change the height to three different levels, and you can fold it down against the wall to save space. However - the instructions on how to install were extremely lacking. I got a bit more info by looking at the page on amazon, but even that wasn't completely comprehensive and I had to figure out some of the placements on my own. And the hardware and anchors it came with were TERRIBLE for drywall - even though it said they were for drywall. It pulled out of my wall the first time I put it up - I had to go to the a hardware store and buy my own anchors meant to hold up to more weight - I got anchors that said they held up to 55 lbs. You'll need four of them if you plan to install into drywall - if you plan to install into wood you should be OK.So - I'm now happy with the bar, and it's great to have something in a convenient spot to practice stretching (it's a great reminder to stretch as I see it when I walk by every day). But if you are going to be installing this into drywall, just keep in mind that you'll probably want to use your own anchors to save yourself the headache of it falling out of the wall!
