I bought this to take on a European cruise and didn't need it. I've only opened it up once and it does not have heavy duty construction. It does not open or close with the smoothness of the more solid auto open styles. However, it was perfectly suitable as a compact travel backup.

I ordered this umbrella because I needed an umbrella that would fit into my purse which it does. However, the umbrella seems flimsy and is a bit hard to open and close.
