You get what you pay for
Fine for a cheap viola. One of the bridges i received wasn’t cut but thankfully the second one was and had grooves on it for the strings. It’s brand new so the pegs will slip. I recommend taking of the strings one by one and rubbing rosin on the pegs then firmly pushing the pegs in while you restring the instrument. This was able to solve my slipping pegs issue for those saying the instrument won’t stay tuned. The strings are cheap as well as the bow they can easily break so be careful. Good for a beginners first time practice viola. If you care abt the quality of sound, i recommend switching the strings and bow for something of higher quality. Other than that it’s fine and I’m satisfied. Also it’s made of like a plastic material, so don’t think it’s going to have the best sound quality but for beginners it will do.

Not great quality
I guess you get what you pay for. It is a low quality instrument. It arrived two days later than expected. And the bridge needs to be cut so I could not have the instrument tuned and I have to pay the music store to cut the bridge so expect to spend an additional around $30-$60 depending if they can cut the flimsy bridges that were provided or if you buy new ones. I also have to wait two weeks to get the bridges back. Would not recommend…..

Maybe not for beginners?
I wasn't expecting an instrument at this price to be high quality, but I have a kiddo who switched from playing violin (one year) to cello and thought he would be able to play this to keep that skill up. It was waiting on the porch when we came in last night around midnight and my sleepy boy was so excited to open it up and start playing. He was very disappointed when he opened the box to see the bridge unattached and the strings going this way and that. Even though he played a very similar instrument very recently we don't know how to set up that bridge and tune the viola. I have a feeling I will be a beginner before we figure it out. I'm crossing my fingers his orchestra teacher is willing to help me!
