Sherpani Tempest, Canvas Convertible Backpack Tote, Fashion Teacher Bag, Casual Backpack Handbag for Women Fits 15 Inch Laptop (Indigo)

I've been carrying a Kate Spade bag to and from work for years until the handles are wearing thin. A colleague has a Sherpani backpack similar to the Temptest and I've always admired it. This backpack/tote is the perfect blend of function and fashion, everything I like in a work bag. Keeps my laptop and paper files in order without looking bulky. Its a great product. The 'bundle' price of $110 including the small black zipper pouch was decent although the pouch, also Sherpani, doesn't seem as durable as the bag, will be useful to keep personal items contained. Without a gift card it would have been cheaper to buy directly from Sherpani but as I had a $75 Amazon card I purchased here making it a true bargain The backpack itself is wonderful!

This is the perfect bag for literally any woman on the go! There are so many useful pockets and compartments and it looks professional as a tote and super cute as a backpack. It converts easily and quickly and (so far) is very durable. I even spilled a huge jug on water inside the bag and it dried in no time with zero damage to anything. The outer covering is very durable and water resistant. It is large enough to carry a laptop and charger in addition to all the contents you would typically have in a purse. It also retails for $150 so you are getting a huge deal buying here!

It's a gorgeous, well-made bag so I can't fault it there. But it felt clunky when used as a backpack, and didn't look very good on. The straps aren't padded so it's not very comfortable. As a tote, this would be great, it just didn't work for my purposes.

I also love the size and the look. Previous reviewers have said it is clunky as a backpack - this is true. I'm hoping this becomes less of an issue once it is broke in. One other detracter is the main zipper. It is hard to close, if unzipped all the way.

After looking around at different websites I kept seeing this backpack purse. I'm going to Portland to travel and explore and I also wanted to be able to use this everyday as a purse. I was concerned about the material and how anti-theft it was. I was also a little worried about comfort. I was pleasantly surprised with how durable the fabric is. I even tested the little swatch of fabric that it came with on the tags. It's hard to cut and I could not slash it with a knife. With the zipper on the top and the straps being an 'X' (as worn as a backpack) there's no way that somebody can get in through the top without you knowing! I know that sounds a little paranoid but just think midwest girl going to a big city. There was one thing that I was surprised about and that's the leather trimming. It's more of a pale beige color than the yellowish color I saw in all of the pictures on different websites. I don't know if this varies from purse to purse-and it doesn't bother me at all...but I was surprised. Overall this is a great purse. It has functionality, a well-thought-out design, has muti-styles and the material seem to be very good quality!

I was looking for a cute backpack/purse that I could carry my wallet phone and notebook for work. I really thought this was it, until it totally broke after using it for only 1 month. The entire seam to the bottom loop detached from the bottom of the purse. I don’t even have anything heavy inside the purse that could cause this to come apart like it did. I feel really bad because I convinced a couple of my friends to also buy it. Now I’ll have to inform them of the poor quality. I’m so disappointed because these would’ve been great Christmas gifts.

I am online today to buy another Sherpani Tempest bag after using and abusing my current one for a couple years. As soon as I looked it up on Amazon, the website notified me that I last purchased this in April 2018. I remember now that I was looking for a back for a week in New York — big enough to fit what I needed for the day yet small enough to actually carry all day, attractive enough to take everywhere, and definitely both backpack and regular straps for security and comfort. This bag was so awesome on the trip! Then I just kept using it and using it — I really don’t know how it still looks so good after everywhere I’ve taken it. It’s still in good shape really (one pull tassel missing) but I like it so much I have to buy another before it’s discontinued! Definitely getting both colors this time (I’ve had the khaki tone.) Lastly, even though it’s not a super trendy style or a big name, I’ve gotten more compliments on this bag than every other bag I own all put together! I certainly don’t buy my handbags or backpacks for that reason, but it has been surprising to me how many people have commented — even taking the time to write down the name so they can find it online themselves. If my description fits your needs, I highly recommend this bag :-)

I like the look of this purse online but when I got it in person I went from like to love. The canvas feel and look is incredible and the details are amazing. Love the organization with all the pockets and how light it is. Can’t wait to use the back pack feature when out and about. Love that instead of a cross body option.

I have only used this bag for a week, so I cannot comment about durability yet. This bag/tote/purse is everything I have been searching for. I use it as a purse/diaper bag.It holds a lot! The main compartment is deep, but not very wide; I like this particular design because it makes it easy to find things (although you may need to take some things out to get to something at the bottom). I can easily fit my wallet, a package of baby wipes, three cloth diapers and a large laptop in the main compartment - with a little room to spare. The laptop does make the bag heavy, and if you were carrying it for a long time I think the straps would quickly become uncomfortable. I would also worry about the straps ripping from where they attach to the bag.There are three well-sized zippered pockets on the outside that I use for my keys/cell phone/pens. There is a small zippered pocket inside the bag - which I use for makeup, hand sanitizer and reusable masks. All the zippers are thick and high quality.I was hesitant to purchase this bag because it looked big and I am only 5'2''. It doesn't look unreasonably big on me, although I could have done with shorter straps when the bag is worn as a backpack (they don't slip off, the bag just sits lower on me than I would like).I highly recommend so far - and will adjust review if durability or quality is not 5/5.Made in Vietnam.

This is the best convertible bag I have had and I've had a lot.It looks great as a bag and as a backpack. Doesn't require re-attaching the straps between backpack and bag mode which I a huge plus and, at the same time, there are no backpack straps hanging around when worn as a bag. Can be worn as backpack on one arm. It fits my 14in laptop and a small lunch box but doesn't look big.I wish it wasn't so flat so that I was able to pack more things but I understand that that's what gives the bag the streamlined look.I'm taking away one star because after a month of using it I found scratches on the baby's canvas. I worry that it will start looking tired much too soon
