Kenmore Electric Dryer with Wrinkle Guard and Auto Dry, Electric Laundry Drying Machine 6.5 cu. Ft. Capacity White

This is the basic dryer, I bought to replace the exact model I previously purchased used from a friend. I knew when buying that it did not come with cords, I purchased at Home Depot the cord and a nut driver, I already had a vent hose and clamps ready. The delivery was simple they brought it into my house and I put it in my laundry room, I installed the feet and the cord following the instructions and a YouTube tutorial as I was nervous about messing up the wiring. I finished in 20 minutes setting up and started using it. There was no dents upon delivery, a few scratches but nothing that would cause me to send it back. I live with 4 children in the house so nothing stays pristine and pretty, which is why I bought the basic dryer. Functionality is perfect, no noise to alert me but I usually use it at night and don’t want to disturb my kids, definitely would buy again for the price I paid 379.00 on Black Friday deal.

I have wanted my old dryer back for 13 years. My dryer that matched a front loader washer finally gave in. I could never get sheets dry in a cycle, it would ball them up and I’d have to dry them at least two cycles. This new dryer is old school and doesn’t ball stuff up. The *only* thing I miss is a drum light. I learned to live without it. Definitely worth the money. If you don’t have an old machine to steal the pigtail off of, order a new one for this since it’s not included. For me, that detail was no big deal. I love that my sheets get dry in a cycle without need to pull them apart and run a second round. This dryer was easily worth it’s cost for me.

I had to hammer the vent valve in so the dryer would fit through my elevator door entrance.It sticks out about 2inches.I had to remove the back cover to reach the lint collection metal cover that caused it stick out approximately 3 to 4 inches on the bottom end of the dryer..Thank God I had tools to open the back casing.Make sure you have a rachet torc screw toolkit.Also, when I complained about the dimensions, they said they would update it. It is still not updated. They also told me that it looked like I once asked for a installation assistance.I never did.I also found a wire inside that was not connected to generate heat.It is a red wire that connects to to the heater core.I feel as though I was being set up to have a contractor to help me.I always look to solve problems myself.I once bought the elite Kenmore air conditioner.They also set me up that if I wanted to cancel the installation price of $130, I had nobody to call. Basically, Kenmore is a bank taking money, and a factory shipping the product with the logo.Sears is no longer handling real people issues. Kenmore was a sears brand product.Sears is known for quality.The dryer is good.However,greedy contractors are here to make you feel dependent on them.I feel that the wire was purposely disconnected to cause me panic to return the product.Like a mechanic telling you your car needs a new radiator fan or some critical issue exist to get paid for work.Amazon wanted to give me the dryer free to avoid the headache they faced with me.I told them no.I figured out why the dryer wasn't heating.They told me tohire a contractor on my own,and they would reimburse me.I found the problem.After opening the unit, and hammering in the exhaust valve and pulling back out with pliers to have it fit through the elevator door opening, the dryer works excellent.Also, thanks to the customers experience, I was able to anticipate buying a four prong power cord plug to install on the dryer to immediately getting it to work.Kenmore is good. They are linked to same parts as Frigidaire brand when needing parts replacement.Enjoy your Kenmore

Eight months after purchasing I have had to have it repaired three times costing me more than the original price of the dryer. I only do laundry once a week so it's not as if I worked the machine hard. First the thermostat died after six months, then the thermos fuse in the repair man just left having to replace the vent fuse. I expected much more from Kenmore as I have been happy with their past appliances. Apparently, if you purchase through Amazon, you are playing Russian roulette with what you receive. After this experience, I will never purchase another Kenmore appliance.

There is on/off, heat/no heat, or air dry. That is all you need. If an appliance has too many options, too many go wrong and it doesn't last as long as it should. This dryer works excellent! Love it

Great for the price dries fast and quiet

The dryer works well and I am pleased with it. What I did not like that it took about 3 weeks to arrive, the delivery truck finally arrived on a Tuesday BUT WHEN THEY WENT INTO THE TRUCK TO GET IT THEY REALIZED THEY FORGOT TO LOAD IT and had to reschedule for the following day. The dryer had several dents, one quite large but since they don’t effect the operation of it we will keep it. Going forward I will not order large items, I don’t like dealing with trucking companies.
