These things are GREAT - with a nearly complete home reno, I now have 30 cabinet doors with soft-close. But there are some things to consider. These come with the spacer which I found I had to use in a few places (due to door hinge crowding). The included spacer is SUPER - it literally snaps onto the pneumatic device so it's easy to handle on the install. BUT here's the thing with these devices. You need a near zero-clearance drill - well, TIGHT clearance - to pilot the holes. I have such a device (flexible shaft with hex drive), but if you don't have such a device you're not going to be able to snug them up into the corner. If that's an issue for you, choose one of the other style of devices that allows a diagonal screw pilot-hole and then you can drill those holes with about any hand-drill (I installed two such diagonal pilot-hole devices in the home so I've seen it both ways). Still I love these particular devices and the tightness of access when drilling is the only reason I did not select five-star rating - they are easily adjustable and work great with narrow (lightweight) doors (11.5" x 44") and just as well with bigger doors (20.5" x 24"). Oh, there was one other rather odd thing. In the bag of devices I rec'd some had only the short screw, some and only the long screw, and some had both screws ??? It all worked out for me as I had various placement issues and the combination fit my needs.

I went in search of retrofit hinges that wouldn't need a lot of redrilling or refitting, and I ran across this little gadget. It seemed too good to be true, but with so many positive reviews, I decided to give it a try.When they arrived (I bought a 15-pack), I took one out and pressed on the grey plunger with my thumb. I was skeptical. Way too hard to press. I didn't think there was any way my self-slamming kitchen cabinet doors were going to be able to work with these. I installed one on the out-of-the-way door above the refrigerator so the hole wouldn't be visible if I had to remove it. My fears were quickly eased.After holding the device in place, I used an awl to mark where the screw would go in the cabinet frame. I drilled a small pilot hole and drove in the screw (I used a flexible shaft on my drill for both drilling the pilot hole and driving the screw so I could be parallel to the top of the cabinet). Easy-peasy. About five minutes for each door.Be sure your current cabinet hinges are self-closing (mine were more like "self-slamming"). This won't work with a regular hinge since it requires the force of the self-closing hinge to provide pressure on the soft-close plunger.Installing 14 of these took about an hour and a half. Installs on both left- or right-hinging doors.It's been a few weeks since I installed them, and I still get a kick out of trying to intentionally slam one of my kitchen cabinets closed, only to have it quickly stop and slowly close the last couple of inches. Unfortunately, my bathroom vanities all have soft-close hinges, so I don't get to install any more of these.A great device at a great price, and much less expensive (and easier!) than replacing all the cabinet hinges. I couldn't be happier.

I had some other types of these cheap soft closers for years and keep fixing/changing them from time to time,and eventually them all fail. I started to switch this type 5 years ago and so far they are the best and I am in the process to change them all. Please do yourself a flavor,start with these and save your time down to the road.

With two young kids, you can imagine I've heard more than one slammed kitchen cabinet. These were exactly what I was looking for. Installation is quite simple. It took me longer to figure out what "overlay" was than anything else. Hopefully this review will help someone else determine if they need to use the included spacer or not. Basically, overlay is how much wider the door is than the actual opening in the cabinet door. Meaning, if the cabinet is 30" wide, and your door is 32" wide, then you have 1" overlay on each side. If you have greater than 1" overlay, you don't need the spacers, if you have less than 1" overlay you do need to use the spacers.

I have now purchased four or five sets of these. They are incredibly easy to install and work perfectly as long as your door has that natural desire to close when it gets close to closing.Unfortunately, these are shipped with either drywall screws or cheap screws that will break during installation...so the first thing you need to do is throw away the package of screws that are included. For $6, you can get a package of 100 WOOD screws (size #8 x 1-1/4 IN) from your local hardware store. Once you have the proper screws, it should take you 15 seconds per hinge to install.Off to enjoy the silence of the cabinets throughout the house!

We moved in to a home that had exposed hinges on all the kitchen cabinets. After some research, I was losing hope that I could get soft close on these doors cause all the ones that attach to the hinge don't work on exposed hinges. Then I came across these attachments and I'll be honest, I was hesitant at first but I figured I could always return them...Anyway, we didn't return them. In fact, we installed them all in one night, took about an hour and we love them! With two toddlers, we definitely needed these door dampers!

These are great quality! Really easy to install - maybe 30 seconds total including drilling a small pilot hole. The kitchen company who installed our kitchen wanted $20+tax/door to retrofit...these worked out to a little over $5/door. Much more affordable! Would recommend and buy again!

These fixed my self slamming cabinets! The little tabs at the back of the plastic spacers need to be snipped off (if you need to use them) so that it sits flush on the inside edges of the cabinet., Otherwise a fantastic product and it's really easy to adjust the dampening. I was able to use one of these to slow a 48" tall pantry door. Well worth spending a little extra for this superior product.

Blue motion really makes to best of these door dampers. they are pretty durable, work on most door situations and easy enough to install without having to empty out cabinets. A bit pricey, but pretty good everall.

These are brand name top-notch parts. 30-40% cheaper than the big box stores and they work great on my 25 cabinet doors that used to slam, but not any longer :)
