My cockatoo was very picky with only eating certain color feed so I switched her feed to this as it’s one color, very low waste, she loved the food she had no issues eating it and her feathers started to grow back really well!

I feed this product to my Yellow Naped Amazon Parrot. My parrot eats this food without wasting any of the food. The size of the food particle is perfect for my amazon. I like that this provides a balanced diet. His feathers look good, and he enjoys eating this product. I have tried other brands with different flavors, and he is very wasteful of those products. I always go back to this product because he will eat these pellets.

We’ve been using Zupreen Pellets for years . They prefer the natural color. They have a funky smell when they get wet however no aroma at all when dry.

My Grey can't get enough of this food! I used to give him KayTee Exact in his cage bowl as his as his 'main' (healthy) food, with some-of-whatever-Dad's-eating over the course of the day. Amazon was out of the pellets he's been used to for 10+ years, so I bought this 'cuz it looked to be the closest in size & color. I admit, I didn't even check the ingredients, I just needed bird food and hoped he'd eat it. (Changing a bird's food can be a HUGE issue with many people recommending gradually changing over from one to another by mixing progressively larger ratios of 'new' to 'old' over a week or more). He never really ate a lot of the Exact and 30-40% of it wound up on the bottom of his cage, but I never thought he hated it or anything, just that he'd rather have daddy-food. The day I gave him these he emptied his bowl! I actually looked around his cage to see if he'd thrown them somewhere 'cuz I couldn't believe he consumed that much food! He's absolutely devouring these pellets, which is great, but I'm now wondering if he's over-eating (and whether he was underfed before!). Hopefully, once he knows this is his 'normal' food, he'll even out his consumption - my worry is he's eating these like he eats peanuts (only given as treats) - which he will eat until he can't eat any more. Now I'm gonna go check the ingredients & reviews of the food quality, etc. but at least I have something he loves to eat. I'll post updates as he as he acclimates to the new food but, just based on how much he likes them, I recommend these pellets. (NOTE: I'm only giving 4 stars for now, 'cuz I really should make sure it has the vitamins, minerals, etc., that he needs, in addition to it, apparently, tasting really great.)

I recently adopted a Yellow Naped Amazon and an Umbrella Cockatoo into my "nest." Both birds had been with their elderly owner for over 30 years and were on a mostly seed based diet (Higgins Sunshine Birds Vita Parrot). The Cockatoo was underweight and the Amazon overweight. At the vet visit, she recommended Harrison's High Potency (sorry I can't figure out how to link it using the Amazon app) which is insanely expensive. I knew that changing them over would be difficult and involve a lot of wasted food and I wasn't about to start out on what is probably the most expensive widely available pellet. Vet said ANY pellet would be a step up for them, especially since the rest of my birds were on Zupreem already. My existing birds seem to like the Zupreem fruit flavored ones but I decided to buy 6 others in different flavors and also in the Kaytee and Higgins options. I was sure that SOME flavor would work. I honestly thought nobody would go for this one though since it wasn't brightly colored or scented like the rest. To start them out, I just had one bowl with their seed and had in additional bowls with different pellets. I didn't want to rush things since we were working against 30+ years of bad habits. Surprisingly I noticed the Amazon would hang out at the natural color pellet bowl and *gasp* actually eat them! This is a bird who used to whatever the owner ate and that included things that may have been greasy or just bad for birds. I thought he would be the toughest hold out since Amazons are so food and seed driven, but he actually liked the pellets! After week one he was completely ignoring his seed and only wanted the brown pellets. And I really mean ONLY the brown ones - he has refused any other one by Zupreem or the other brands. As for the Cockatoo- I'm still trying to see what works with him. He'll starve before eating a pellet and I've tried a few other ways. Fortunately I'm able to supplement his diet well enough with fruits and veggies and grains. As for the pellet size - the large seems ok for Senegal on up. My Green Cheek Conure seems ok with that size (he's on the Amazon size in the fruit flavored) but he's not that into the pellets so I can't tell if it's the brown color (since he has days where he'll only eat certain colors) or the size.
