It was a gift and happy it arrived ahead of holiday schedule .Feedback from recipients that it had just begun growing (week later) which delighted me (as in my location a solidarity bulb began blooming upon purchase)....Lovely for anticipation of a beautiful bloom in winter .Excellent service!

Disliked: sent as a gift. It arrived in a timely manner. It looked very dry and flakey. My sister planted it. Checking back with her some time later she said "must have gotten a dud." $25 bucks down the drain.Have never had happen before. Must have poor quality control at this online store.

I purchase one every year for my father. It's easy to manage, they do everything by themselves - it happens pretty quickly and it blooms - stays for a bit and then, it's done. He looks forward to it so, I continue with the purchase.

When I pay $20 for something, I don't expect much, and trust me I completely expect something involving a pack of dirt and a plant to be...well, dirty.But since this IS going to be a gift, appearances matter a little so just be aware that you should probably open it up and clean the inside/outside before gifting.It arrives in a cardboard box as pictured, which looks nice and has a convenient 'To, From" gift label already printed on its top. The box however, was very dirty, all sides were dusted with dirt and if you picked it up, your hands came away brown and if you put it down anywhere, it'd dust some 'dirt' over your desk. The box is also quite flimsy so there maybe be a little bit of denting, but as long as it's not awful, it's fine.You'll need to wipe down the outside before gifting.Fortunately it's not tape-sealed so you can open it up. Inside you will find as listed, one bag of growing soil, and one plastic brown pot/plate with a dry looking amaryllis bulb inside. Everything will be dirty, ESPECIALLY the pot/plate. In fact it looks dirty enough to have been gathering dust on a shelf or attic or in a shed. There are also dried leaf bits caking the plate a bit. The bulb was just sitting inside the pot without a cover, so during shipping I imagine it must have bounced everywhere. The bag of soil at least did not appear to be leaking. There's nothing else, no instructions of care, or plastic wrap, etc.Like I said I don't expect much for a steal like this, but you just kind of hope it'd at least look like a professional gift set instead of as cheap as it was.I wiped down the entire pot, inside and out, cleaned the surface of the plastic soil bag, and then fortunately had some colorful crepe paper that I lined the inside of the box with to brighten things up. (also to prevent further soil from leaking out of the box). I had no choice but to use saran wrap to cover the pot (with the bulb inside) so that at least during my own transport, the bulb would not bounce everywhere and get it all dirty again.When you gift wrap it, you'll probably want to label which side is up so that your recipient doesn't receive a splash of dirt over them.BTW for anyone who hasn't actually seen an amaryllis full grown, it's a tall, heavy plant with multiple heavy blooms. There's NO WAY this plastic pot and dirt will be able to hold up the plant once it matures, so you may want to consider a second gift of a much taller, larger vase or pot. I've had a friend who gave a clear glass vase and you could watch the flower grow beautifully. Or you could just leave that up to your recipient :PAnyways I know this review sounds negative, but honestly for $20 it's fine and as long as it grows beautifully, who cares!I just wanted to leave this review so that future buyers know not to just buy and gift, this takes a tiny bit of sprucing up before it's holiday ready!

I gave this as a Christmas present & the person loved it. Very pretty

This bulb was on sale, but it was moldy and failed to grow.

I sent this to a friend as a gift. She sent back a picture to show the number of blooms.

Never a disappointment. To me this says Christmas. I send one to all my clients and friends. They now love them to.
