Excellent book. Very helpful. Very useful in my management position

I write performance reviews for my trainees. I felt that mine sounded as if they were written by my 8 year old nephew. I became really insecure about it when my coordinator brought up how i needed to improve on them as well. This book helped me!! Comparing what I wrote 6 months ago to after purchasing this book is night and day. So happy with this purchase. I recommend it to other trainers as well.

Gave it to the wife today; she writes a lot of reviews for employees. I scanned it and it looks like it has a lot of ideas and it will structured.

Not shows any examples only talks general ideas but nothing concrete.

I have found this book very useful over the past 1-2 years. It mainly covers right from goal setting uptill review for the entire year. In fact I am planning to re-read before the performance review / goal setting that is about to begin. As an engineer I have never had a perfect review, so I have no legacy to use / pass on. This is where this book has helped - to build my skill as a manager in the most crucial interaction between an employee and the manager.

I used the suggestions in this book for my associate reviews this year. It helped freshen up the wording I used on the written form, and people did notice the difference. I also used the suggestions on how to conduct the reviews. They were much more productive and positive than in previous years. I plan on doing things differently for the coming year for the documentation that should make it easier next year. Glad I purchased this book!

This is my secret (ok-not so secret because it lives on my desk) weapon for writing reviews. One of my co-workers "borrowed" my original copy of this book permanently, so I just bought another copy for myself. :)
