Dell E6540 15.6inch Laptop Intel Core i5-4300M 2.6GHz 8GB Ram 500GB HDD Windows 10 Pro 64bit (Renewed)

I was genuinely impressed. Laptop was well packaged and in basically pristine condition. Fired right up, battery was at 100% out of the box. I let wWindows do it's updates, it was not activated but the code is on the sticker and activation went without a hitch. Apparently this laptop was originally a Windows 7 model, the sticker is still on it but it has Windows 10 Pro installed and so far no complaints. I bought this for work, I am a tech in a car dealer and a good laptop is essential for diagnostics.It works perfectly, I might even get a second for home.So I will add an update. I have been using this laptop without issue. I did upgrade the hard drive to a 1 TB SSD. I just used clonezilla and the SSD really made it come alive. Much faster, as you would expect. The hard drive it came with was a 5400 rpm Seagate. I also purchased a second laptop for home and also upgraded to a SSD. The one I pulled out of this one was a 7200 rpm no name with a date code from 2013. Not complaining because for the price, even with an extra $100 to upgrade it, it is still a great deal.Update 02/29/2020Well I spilled coffee on one. As you would expect, it did not like it. So I bought another one and like the other 2, it's perfectUpdate 10/19/2023.I just bought my 7th one. I have been a little tough on them, a few spills have taken out 3 so completely my fault. I have one that randomly shuts down and 1 the screen is finally dying but I am not complaining, I did get a lot of use out of it. The 7th was purchased to replace the one with the dying screen, but I never got it too load windows. Seems like a bad hard drive, pulled it out(easy since the screws were missing) and it's from 2013. I swapped in the drive from the bad screen laptop and it worked, for about 3 minutes. It then froze. Rebooted and it freezes every time now.So I just took the screen and used it to fix the other one, I am now back in business. I know, kinda stupid, I could have got a screen for probably $50, but me being me, I am impatient and I had to have it fixed now. Plus I can always use spare parts.

Worked well right out of the box. A Christmas gift for my wife, she's been using it daily for a while now and she's quite happy with it except for the power cord, it fits into the lap top "loosely", and keeps falling out, which is a little annoying. When first being used, the battery life was just about two hours, and degraded quickly over time. I've already had to install a replacement battery, which is providing in excess of four hours working time before she has to revert to the cord.

This Dell E6540 laptop is a nightmare, from the day I received it, the battery would intermittently not charge, sometimes would charge from the docking station. Then, while the laptop was in-use, the battery showing full charge, I would get a message "can't communicate with battery" and the laptop abruptly shut down. Even ordered a new battery - same issue. Now, it won't charge batteries at all -with a dead battery, the laptop won't boot at all - makes it completely unusable. Now over 90 day warranty - I tried contacting SKYTECH and they don't accept emai! Bad news. Googled and found many folks with same issue.-----------HiSorry to hear about the problem. If the laptop turns on couple secs and shut it back down, normally it indicate the charger is bad. Do you have a spare charger to test with the computer?Please let us know. Thank you.AST Customer Support-----------I did try another charger - it won't charge the battery nor will it power the laptop, just like the original charger.I ordered an external battery charger, hoping it will get me through. I did not even get a year of use out of this Laptop.

These were two refurbished laptops for twins I know. They were thrilled with them, and I had my son, who makes his living in the computer world, ascertain that for teenagers these were more than capable enough of doing anything they could possibly be tasked with, whether in high school or in college. Great deal, in other words.

I really love this computer. I had to switch from a Mac because certain coding programs wouldn’t work properly on an apple, and I was buying something refurbished, so I was kinda worried. But this new computer is very fast and easy to use. There is plenty of space for all of my necessary stuff. The battery life is truly awesome- when you’re trying hard to save battery, it’ll stay charged up to 6 hours with multiple programs running. Without many programs running I can get ~10 hours out of it. It has all the ports you could want (I think..? It’s got a ton at least.) and all of the ports work. It is a big upgrade from my 2012 MacBook, all things considered.A warning: This laptop is pretty heavy, so I would consider using it as a home computer or at least be prepared to lug it around.

Very fast delivery. Laptop and charger as expected. It takes a little bit to get through the Computer setup, but I could register Windows 10 easily with the given instructions. Sound & Graphics are very good and the Speed for Internet or to load something or copy files is very fast. Would buy from this dealer again.

Nightmare. Avoid purchasing refurbished computers on line. By the time you have proofed the computer is the problem, not you. It's too late to return. Tried 2 units. One for my son and one for me. $1,000. out of pocket and no working computers.
