The rules (like all rules) might sounds a little bit confusing at first, but my friends and I just dove into this game headfirst, reading as we went along and it was great. My group of fellow players really like social deduction games in which one player is on the 'secret' team. The only issue with those games is that everyone really eventually wants to BE that special role ... well in this game if you are the Witch character (the special role) there is a mechanic that allows for you to make other players into Witches like you and bring them onto your team. So as the Witch you can play it risky and try to use this 'recruiting' mechanic -- but knowing this mechanic exists also cultivates a sense of paranoia (the fun kind) in all the other players. My friends and I played this maybe 6 times in a row and it got better and better as we started to get a better handle on the mechanics and how to leverage them. And also, this is just with four players, which traditionally is nowhere near enough for a game of 'traditional' werewolf (7+ is best) to work. The final game I ended up losing ... as the remaining 3 players had all become witches. I was the lone holdout in an entire 'town' that had converted to witchcraft, very exciting conclusion. I recommend this game highly, it's got a simple, yet exciting mechanic. I bought this to bring on camping trip later in the year and plan on seeing how well it scales up to more people. The pieces feel high quality and we love the ancient text 'book' that holds the game materials. Very well done.

After the playing the first round, we played three more rounds. Lots of fun, in the right group, with 6 people.

Great game! This is one of our go to games during game night. For first time players, it is easy to learn.

Yes, this game took 1, 2, ok maybe 5 times to fully understand what everything means (it's hard to teach a group of wild, inebriated 20 somethings new things), but once you're in it you're HOOKED. This game is amazingly fun and really brings out everyone's personality. My friend group has introduced it to over 50 people and we have not had a single negative review. Almost everyone that has played with us has asked when we're playing next! The rules are intricate, but the game is expertly crafted. It allows a typically nice, harmless, trustworthy person in everyday life to be vile, cunning, and manipulative. And we love it. This tests you ability to fib to your friends to the 100th degree. If skill games scare you, don't worry, you don't always have to be at the top of your game to fully enjoy it. As far as time it takes to play, it does depend on your group size sometimes, but overall regardless of the amount of people playing, we've had games last 5 minutes all the way up to an hour and a half. (Also depends on concentration level of players.) I recommend this to anyone looking for a game that will unite their friend group, wanting to play it again and again, almost making it a tradition of sorts. 11/10

This game is similar to things like Avalon (Resistance), deception, werewolf etc. We love playing social deduction games. The more players the better. I recommend 6 or more. It's not as good as Avalon but about on par with deception although game play is very different than both. I would say the dialogue amongst players is somewhere between Avalon (loud, raucous, and sometimes yelling) and Deception (more calm, thinky, rationalization, analysis). Draw backs can include being killed early and then you're out of the game so you could be sitting by watching for 20-30 mins. There are ways to mitigate this in the rules though. And it can be quite fun to watch people play from the sidelines when you know if they are a witch or not. There is quite a bit of luck involved with cards drawn, your tryal cards flipped over by other players (basically how many lives you have), and witches killing players in the night. Overall it's a fun game and both groups I've played with (about 8 plays total) wanted to play again then again. If you enjoy social deduction games, then you will like this game. By the end of the game, you will be asking/accusing everyone "Are you a witch?!" or "You're a witch!!". Hats off to the creators of these games.

The directions are a little confusing until you get into the game but the game was fun and can't wait to play with family and friends more. The more the game is played the easier it will get. I love the twist of more details rather than just werewolf or secret Hitler. Love those games also!

My family loves this game. We had to get a second one so more people can play together.

This game has been a fantastic addition to my collection. As a fan of games like werewolf, resistance etc, I thought I'd give this a try, and everyone I played this with has enjoyed it. It's nice and short (about 30mins) and, more importantly, really simple to teach to my friends who don't play the game as much. Finally, the presentation with the faux box is fantastic - also compact! The only gripe I have with this is the player count you need - it really thrives with 8+ players, but anything less felt a bit stale (although that's the same with most other hidden role games). Overall, it's a great beginning/ending game to a game night or party, and I enjoyed it a lot.
