Bulk coffee cascara - aka Coffee Fruit Tea. Highest quality sun-dried Cascara. Review: This is really a wonderful beverage, all on its own. - Being associated with coffee is sort of an albatross for Cascara, because it is completely unlike coffee in virtually every respect. But you hear 'coffee', you think it has to be like it in some way, so people have their expectations colored by that. Cascara tea is really quite lovely. It is naturally sweet-ish, though I still add a drop or two of liquid sucralose to it. And I'm one of those freaks who puts creamer in his tea. Deal with it. I don't want to say it's like 'herbal tea' because that has all kinds of connotations that aren't fit for it. It is...a full bodied, perhaps somewhat nutty, but with a somewhat floral quality, but not pungent floral. It's just a well balanced, completely different flavor from anything I've ever had. The dried husks actually smell somewhat like cocoa as you scoop them into the cup. But once brewed, there is nothing cocoa-like to it at all, either in fragrance or taste. It's really kind of fascinating. Anyway, that's my take on it. It does have a bit of caffeine, but as some say, it's probably only about a quarter of what a good strong cup of coffee has in it. It barely registers as stimulating. And on top of being delicious, it's full of all sorts of antioxidants and phyto-whatevers that are super-duper good for a body, so there's that too. Review: Tastes a bit like raisins. I like it. - Makes for a flavorful berry-flavored tea! I bought this on a whim after reading about the benefits of coffee cherry. Now, I can't say anything about benefits - that would just be hard to pin down. However, this is a fairly large bag at a reasonable price that can easily make many, many cups of tea. They are coffee cherry skins, and I guess you can eat them after brewing, but they don't taste like much at that point. I brew it in a teapot with hot water and have had a cup every day since I bought it. It has a vaguely raisin+cherry flavor with a slight tartness (if you overbrew it like me) and notes of caramel. Per brewing, you can probably get 2-3 brews with it (of course depending on the time you spend brewing it - I always overbrew my tea, so I can get 2 good brews with one tablespoon of coffee cherries). I've also tried brewing it with cinnamon as I've seen suggested online, which is very pleasant as well. If you want a tea (that's still caffeinated) and enjoy dried-berry flavors, I'd highly recommend trying it sometime. For a note - the bag is like advertised, a bulk bag, so it doesn't reseal or anything.

Tastes horrible, and not returnable.
I've had cascara before, and really enjoyed the flavor. Other examples had pleasant fruity overtones with currant and leathery undertones. This one, however, had overtones of musty basement. Seriously, you could go grab a handful of dust off a rafter in your basement, steep it in hot water, and you'd basically have the flavor of this swill. I tried to return it, only to find it is not returnable because it is considered a grocery product. DO NOT BUY this garbage.

nothing wrong with it, but it's not for me
The product itself was perfectly fine. I did not notice any mold or anything that some other reviewers reported. I just wanted to try it once to see if it was good since I drink coffee. That said, I really didn't like the flavor of tea made from it very much. I don't know if there is any difference between brands, but I am satisfied that I am probably just not a fan. It was still fun to try it though.

You MUST try this! Yum!
This is fantastic stuff, love it iced with a little sweetener. I brewed it hot(steeped about 4 minutes), and I also cold brewed it(nearly 24 hours, but probably 8-12 hours would be fine.) Drank both ways over ice. Added just a little sweetener. Both ways it is excellent. The taste is primarily, I would say, almost dried cherry-like, and a bit currant or raisin-like. It doesn't taste like a cup of coffee at all, although if you have good taste buds and can pick out the fruitiness in quality light-roast coffees, you will recognize this as that fruitiness. Does that make sense? It will when you try it. Note that if you brew it longer, you will get more tartness, which I prefer. This brand seems to be very high quality, judging by the look of the dried coffee cherries and the flavor. I can't compare it to other brands as this is the first I tried, but I know what I love! This product only has about 10 reviews right now, and if you love it like I do, give it a review. I really want it to stick around. Ordering my second bag today. (I have received nothing for this review, I just love this stuff)

Great tea!
I love this! It is similar to black tea in taste, with a mild fruity flavor. I like it both iced and hot. It doesn’t take too much to make a hot cup (1or 2 tablespoons depending on how big of a cup) and I love tossing a handful into a big jug of water and having iced tea in the morning. I don’t mind leaving the fruit in as I drink. It’s big enough to not get a mouthful. You can easily scoop or strain it out if you want. For people wondering- this does not taste like coffee and has about as much caffeine as black tea. It looks a bit like black olives after it has been soaked. My only hesitation in writing a review is that I will not be able to purchase this again 😁 I hope this product remains available!!!! I’m on my second bag and definitely want to order more.

Amazing tea
Amazing full tasting tea. Reminds me of rooibos or honeybush tea. Steeped for 5-10 minutes per the bag instructions. Can't wait to brew a tea concentrate and make a cascara simple syrup next. The 12 oz weight bag fits with a tiny bit of room to spare in my square 11cup/2.6 liter volume container. I just cut out the bag label and tape to the lid. Shipping was quick, and bag was well sealed in good condition.
