I took it out of the included storage bag and with a quick twist, extended the handle and ready to go. I laid a tape measure down on the concrete floor and ran out 22'. Then I started the wheel with the hanging arow right on the end of the tape. At 22' on the tape measure the arrow on the wheel was right over the 22' mark just as it clicked on the counter. Plenty good enough for this homeowner.

Easy to use

Works well in measuring on the ground distances where using a tape measure is impractical. Only difficulty encountered was that small rocks will impede the travel of the wheel. Buying a tool with a larger diameter wheel is a better option.

I used this to measure out streetlight placement in my neighborhood. The texture of the wheel made it not slip on road or in grass and bumpy ground. I rolled out a paper 100' measuring tape and walked it 3 times and the wheel was exactly at 300', so it is accurate. The handle extends to the perfect length and I am 6'2". The numbers are easy to read.

I ordered one of these, when I received it and opened the box an unbearable stink washed over me. It smelled like an electrical fire happened inside the box. Just a toxic chemical repulsive smell. Furthermore, when I put it back into the bag it comes with, the zipper popped off.So I thought it was a one off problem, and asked for a replacement be sent. I got that today and the same horrible smell. Didn't even take it out of the bag this time, I don't want to touch it.If I were you, don't buy this. The smell gets on your hands too if you handle the thing. It wouldn't wash off, the smell finally wore off a day later.
