This is a really good percolator. It brews fast and makes delicious coffee.I'd like to offer a suggestion for those on the fence because of those reviews concerning cleaning issues and build-up at the bottom of the percolator- I've had much success using denture cleaning tablets like Polident to remove coffee stains- like it would for dentures- in the pot (with the stem and basket too). A soak following the directions followed by a quick warm, soapy wash and rinse and the percolator is clean, sanitized, and pretty darn close to "like new" in condition.

Makes Great coffee!! Not so bulky like my old Drip coffee maker. I use 2 paper filters , 1 one on bottom of basket and one on top. I use a smart plug for automatic start everyday.

The product is as described; all necessary parts & a clear, concise instruction booklet were in the box, all parts are stainless (except for the lid knob), & it brews 12 cups in 12 minutes, 1 minute per cup, as described in the Amazon description.All stainless construction w/ no plastics was the main reason I decided to buy this item. Seeing a plastic knob in the lid isn’t what I expected given Amazon’s description. Amazon, can replace the plastic knob w/ one made of glass?Thank you.

Love this percolator!!! Makes the best morning coffee without risk of toxic plastics! All Stainless Steel and I use it every day!!!

Right off the bat, the description says it has a GLASS TOP which it does NOT. It’s 100% PLASTIC. This was very disappointing since I’m trying to get away from all the plastics in my life is why I stopped using my Keurig. I have an old camping percolator with a glass top, so I switched out the tops and was pleased it actually fit. Okay, so problem solved.Good news: I was very happy with the coffee flavor, I must say! I buy the beans and grind them very course for fear that I would find coffee grinds with each poured cup, especially the last. As a precaution, since I already had them on hand from my camping percolator, I use brown organic paper coffee filters. Super cheap and highly recommend. I’ve never used this percolator without them, so I don’t know if that’s making the difference with the coffee grind problems people have mentioned about this percolator.Bad news: the black “stuff” that forms at the very bottom bolt. There are many reviews here about it and, like everyone else, I have no clue what this is! It started within the first two weeks of using it, and it just gets worse. I keep it clean daily, so I’m not sure what this. It’s enough to make me wonder what am I consuming that keeps appearing at the bottom of the pot, so the thought alone makes me not enjoy my great coffee. Maybe it’s just the coffee itself, so I hate to bash this percolator altogether, but the problem is, I don’t know what it is and no one has been able to explain it either. Since I’m trying to get away from all the gross toxins the American government is okay with keeping us sick with, I’M RETURNING THE PERCOLATOR.Unfortunately, I’m having a hard time finding a percolator that meets my checklist which is a glass top (but that may be an easy fix), stainless steel everything, and an auto off-switch would be great (which this one doesn’t have).

Anyone trying to break away from the Keurig coffee maker should consider this percolator. I will never go back.

percolator is beautiful and works as expected.the downsides are - i expected more robust coffee than with a drip, and that was not be experience.also, grounds are getting into the coffee, even with a disc filter. I am not even brewing the full pot and grounds are prevailant
